There have many complaints made about the Koppen Climate classification being incorrect for many regions,-- see it's Wikipedia article Talk Page. This article should use NOAA data instead. It's much more accurate for Northern Virginia. The area has hot sub-tropical summers, but in the winter Mid-Atlantic, not southern, weather patterns take over.
