    Stree 2 (transl. Woman 2) is an upcoming Hindi language comedy horror film film directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Aakash Ambani under the banner of Maddock Films and Jio Studios. A sequeltoStree (2018), it is the second installment in the Maddock Supernatural Universe. It stars Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana and Vijay Raaz. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on 30 August 2024.[1][2]

    Development

    In October 2018, director Amar Kaushik announced that he is planning a sequel to the Stree.[5] In February 2022, actor Rajkummar Rao revealed that the sequel to Stree is planned.[6] In August 2022, it was confirmed that the original writers, Raj &DK, will not continue as writers of the sequel but will still contribute as producers.[7][8] In March 2023, the sequel to the movie was confirmed to be in the pre-production stage and will begin filming in July 2023.[9] In April 2023, the makers announced that the film will release on 30 August 2024.[10] The cast include Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana, reprising their roles from the previous film.[11]

    Filming

    Principal photography commenced on 10 July 2023.[12] The first schedule was held the same location.[13] The second schedule commenced on November 2023 in Chanderi.[14]

    Release

    The film is scheduled to be theatrically released on 30 August 2024.[1]
