Job Rumor[edit]

I've removed the rumor that Allen Boyd traded his vote on Obamacare for a promise a job as Secretary of Agriculture and an early parole for his son. Even though I've heard this rumor myself through other sources, at this point major media has not carried it and Boyd has neither confirmed nor denied it as far as I can tell. Shame on him for not speaking up, but shame on others for spreading the rumor as fact without adequate support. --Neil Brown (talk) 02:53, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Picture[edit]

I'm not comfortable with that picture. It's not encyclopedic. If no one objects, I'll remove or replace it. -ALC Washington

I object, and yes it is encyclopedic. Tell me how it isn't. Mike H. That's hot 18:21, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Mike-- I was referring to the picture that was up there before, which was decidedly unencyclopedic (graphic of a bald eagle in the backround overlaid with a translucent American flag). This one is fine. Sorry to have left out the date stamp on my post above. ALC Washington 12:56, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm removing the link to allenboydmustgo.com as it doesn't seem appropriate for a Wiki page. This isn't supposed to be a political ad either for or against politicians. GatorOne (talk) 05:35, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speaker Vote[edit]

Please do not keep adding Boyd's vote for Nancy Pelosi under "US House of Representatives." It is not notable, as she was elected Speaker unanimously by the Democratic caucus. Per Speaker of the United States House of Representatives: "It is expected that members of the House vote for their party's candidate." Repeatedly re-adding this information violates WP:NPOV and is treading very close to vandalism. Arbor832466 (talk) 14:12, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The truth hurts I see. Yes, it is very news worthy that Congressman Boyd voted for Speaker Pelosi. You are wrong, and a statement of fact about Congressman Boyd's actual voting record is not vandalism. Your repeated removal of this inconvenient fact is itself treading close to vandalism. This vote is very newsworthy particularly because of Boyd's Blue Dog membership where its members claim to be fiscally conservative. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.96.98.251 (talk) 17:17, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Something simply being true does not in itself merit its inclusion in Wikipedia. Per WP:What Wikipedia is not: "In any encyclopedia, information cannot be included solely for being true." The fact that a Blue Dog Democrat voted for Nancy PelosiasSpeaker of the United States House of Representatives is not notable because ALL members of the Blue Dog Coalition voted for Pelosi as Speaker. Your adding it in to the Allen Boyd article is a clear example of Cherry picking and your repeated reverts constitute vandalism. Arbor832466 (talk) 17:44, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Health Care vote Allen Boyd has voted for several major piece of legislation without reading the 2000 plus pages per bill. His mentor, Nancy Pelosi, intentionally hides the legislation from the people until the very last second. Wikepedia is evidently run and controlled by Democrat Party ooperatives and by George Soros (the billionaire from Eastern Europe) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ironfootballm (talkcontribs) 06:36, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request from CleanGovernment, 12 September 2010[edit]

As a member of the Democratic caucus, Congressman Boyd voted for Nancy Pelosi to be Speaker of the House. This is both factual, and very relevant for readers. Evidently, some of Mr. Boyd's supporters view this statement of fact as vandalism. I teach at an inner city school in Tallahassee, and this is a simple statement of fact, and important knowledge for students and citizens to have. Am we also vandalizing the site if we write that Obama selected Biden as a VP running mate? —Preceding unsigned comment added by CleanGovernment (talkcontribs) 19:28, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ALL members of the Democratic Caucus voted for Nancy Pelosi as Speaker. It's not notable. Conversely, it would be notable if he had NOT voted with the rest of his party. Please see WP:Truth for an explanation of why truth is not a justification for inclusion in a Wikipedia article. See also User talk:74.96.98.251. Allen Boyd, How can he be a Fiscal Conservative? There is NO budget for 2010 to restrain spending...by Nancy Pelosi and the Democrat Party[edit]

While Mr. Boyd is a member of the Blue Dog Coalition, he has been silent on Nancy Pelosi's refusal to actually have a budget for 2010. I disagree with those editors that believe that Congressman Boyd's vote for Nancy Pelosi is not relevant. How can I appeal this to a wider audience, or have another editor review what appears to be a biased and capricious decision to hide Congressman Boyd's critical vote for Nancy Pelosi? Is this forum exclusively controlled by Democrat operatives?

Edit request from CleanGovernment, 29 September 2010[edit]

{{edit semi-protected}} Please allow edits to reflect Congressman Boyd's voting record and how it has followed the House Leadership. His vote for Nancy Pelosi is a critical fact. There ARE Democrat Congressmen who oppose Pelosi, so Mr. Boyd's support of Pelosi IS NOTEWORTHY.

Please prove me wrong, but it sure looks like Wikipedia is controlled by left wing extremists who are trying to protect the President's agenda and all members of Congress who passed his agenda to include Allen Boyd.

CleanGovernment (talk) 14:24, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. (Also, I lolled at the left-wing comment. Wikipedia is not "controlled" by anyone. Wikipedia is the people who edit it. You make up Wikipedia just like me) Thanks, Stickee (talk) 15:00, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's the Democratic Party, not the Democrat Party, CleanGovernment. Your bias is showing. Arbor832466 (talk) 15:22, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Put in something to reflect his pathetic cowardice and WHAT LEFTWINGER WORTH A SHIT WOULD SPEND A SECOND DEFENDING THIS WORTHLESS SHITBAG republican in a democrat suit?
