It's so frustrating that one of the best Atlantis characters has to go to make way for the SG-overspill now that SG-1 is gone.

How come Carson Beckett has a Saltire on his uniform. Why not the UK flag. Does the UK no longer Exist in Stargate land? Is Scotland independent? Just curious.
Beckett is a civilian so probably isn't there on behalf of the British military but rather just as doctor. As such, most Scots do see themselves as Scottish before they are British so would choose to wear the Saltire rather than the Union Jack. Cosmic quest 03:25, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you walk around Scotland, you don't see many Union flags. You do, however, see a saltire on every flagpole. Novium 15:42, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
