Major rewrite needed

Whoever wrote the plot outline needs to turn down their Judgmental knob, which is clearly set in the upper reaches right now. Just because Paul smokes weed, he's hardly a 'drug abuser'. Likewise, I do not care that the author of this piece thinks that the kids aren't 'well-adjusted'. Ben and Janey's affair is also very far from 'torrid' - it's as enervated and world-weary as most of the other relationships in this film. Likewise, please leave out comments like saying that the parents' behaviour is 'inappropriate'. Comments like that are inappropriate in what's supposed to be an encyclopedia article, not a guidebook on why people shouldn't behave like the characters in this movie. I will make changes to reflect my comments unless anyone can tell me why I shouldn't. Lexo 15:21, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and made the changes anyway.Lexo 23:08, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good job Lexo. LIJPatrol edwpat—Preceding undated comment added at 02:46, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Icestorm1.jpg

Image:Icestorm1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot 08:03, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese cinema?

The banner on this talk page states that this article is part of Chinese cinema. However, clicking said link goes to a page that states the project is about Chinese-language films; this film is in the English language. Shouldn't it be part of American cinema task force? There's nothing Chinese about the film, apart from the director. Nietzsche 2 (talk) 23:44, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about reversion

I have no knowledge of doing this, somehow the rollback link was clicked [1]. Sorry! --CutOffTies (talk) 21:02, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Uh, and so, what about the ICE storm?

If I want a scene by scene scenario, I can watch the movie. I suppose if I want to learn how they managed to schedule filming during an ice storm, I'd have to rent the DVD? 68.164.35.42 (talk) 05:32, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Inspiration?

Did this film serve as inspiration for John Cusack's film, The Ice Harvest? The similarity between their names imply a connection. 216.99.201.135 (talk) 06:09, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 17 June 2024

– According to pageviews, The movie article has been viewed daily by hundreds of readers; the novel one, less than one hundred daily. The film should be the primary topic of the title using "The". (Ice storm warning may not count.) Alternatively, the dabpage should take over the base title if neither is proven to be primary topic. George Ho (talk) 08:46, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
