Changes to the lead, formatting, and other issues[edit]

GiselaGovaart, please note that the edit you made here restored edits which I had previously removed. In some cases, the merits of my changes may be debatable, but in other cases, they simply brought the article into line with Wikipedia's standards of formatting. Those changes should never have been undone. Book titles are meant to be in italics: thus, the name of Quine's previous book must be presented as From a Logical Point of View, not as "From a Logical Point of View". Finally, please note that there is never supposed to be an empty space between the end of a sentence and a citation. See WP:CITEFOOT, thank you. You're right, we were editing together, I tried to save both of our changes, however I missed some of your changes (I did not see the difference in the book title, because to me it looks the same in the editing section, I only see the difference on the page itself... -maybe you can tell me what the difference between From a Logical Point of View, and "From a Logical Point of View" is??). Thanks for restoring them! I'll be more careful next time.

Well, the difference between them is simply that placing a book title in italics (like here, From a Logical Point of View) is considered correct on Wikipedia, and placing it within quotation marks (like this, "From a Logical Point of View") is not. There is a relevant Wikipedia:Manual of Style. ImprovingWiki (talk) 08:24, 26 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but in the editing area they both look like quotation marks.. Is there a way to see which quotation marks are visible as quotation marks, and which quotation marks make the text italic? — Preceding unsigned comment added by GiselaGovaart (talkcontribs) 11:00, 27 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
