New structure

The sources are quiet clear in the "verticals" of Corus Entertainment:

So how can that not be how I organized it? Spshu (talk) 15:59, 19 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

User:Spshu, here is the only acceptable source for this: http://www.crtc.gc.ca/ownership/eng/cht032b.pdf Mdrnpndr (talk) 09:38, 20 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That's just the structure of Corus's operating subsidiaries for CRTC licensing purposes. Another Corus press release does confirm that "women and family" is the vertical for their remaining non-kids services. But personally, aside from kids, premium TV, and the TLN properties, we're not here to outline this company's ownership structure in template form. We're just here to list their networks. ViperSnake151  Talk  01:12, 21 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@User:ViperSnake151, User:Spshu: Actually, no, that's almost certainly Corus' actual structure, since that seems to be what companies are required to report to the CRTC. In any case, the major problem with the current template version is that the French-language services are not part of Teletoon Canada, while the CRTC file clearly states they are. Mdrnpndr (talk) 05:50, 21 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No you are misreading the chart, Mdrnpndr, Teletoon Canada, Inc., 8504644 Canada Inc. (licensee of Historia) and 8504652 Canada Inc. (licensee of Séries+) are all directly owned subsidiaries of Corus Entertainment, Inc. As there is is no rectangular box for a holding company or division between those corporations and Corus. Go to page 4 of the CRTC document and that should clear it up for you. Also, it is document 2 of many as it references documents 32a, 32c, 32d, 32h and 32i. The organizational chart does not included Nelevna, Corus Digital Post DeepSky Kids, Can Press and Toon Boom Animation.
Yes, ViperSnake151, while editors don't have to follow the company's ownership structure in the template:
  1. I think it might help the reader in visualize if they want to learn about what is in Corus Media, Teletoon Canada or other divisions.
  2. The objection to the edit is that it supposedly does not follow Corus Entertainment's new structure as it was first supposedly "unknown" then "misleading".
  3. The previous version that Mdrnpndr fights for is misleading in that it capitalizes "Corus Kids", "Corus Média", "Corus Family", "Corus Women" and includes Corus as if they are named divisions/verticals instead of straight categories (kids, french, family, women, etc.).
  4. Given the Corus Women and Family, it allows the removal of one group that only has 2 items in it (Corus Family). Spshu (talk) 20:10, 21 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Consensus

User:Spshu, you have repeatedly been edit warring against the IP edits, which are clearly in line with my edits – and more importantly, the actual sourcing, since your own sources do not support almost any of your changes (with the singular exception of the Nelvana change, which does not make sense for this template anyways). You are now fighting against two levels of consensus. Mdrnpndr (talk) 13:48, 19 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
