In answer to recent (removed) discussions on this page, I am happily married and proudly bisexual. I'm also impervious to comments about same. I feel that anonymous attacks, particularly over a span of more than a year, are a cowardly waste of time. Live and let live, eh? |

Two issues... I'm reluctant to edit articles because, unless the piece is really lousy, or the change is a simple one about which there is no issue, I feel I'm obliged to respect the original writer's work, just as I would want mine respected. I therefore tend to post comments that I hope will ''encourage the writer to make the changes''. Why? Because if the writer doesn't agree, he'll undo my editing, making it a complete waste of my time. |

Some of my comments express ''opinions'' about the article's topics, which is, of course, a no-no in the article. Their intent is to encourage the author to find the appropriate reference source and make the change himself. Am I being lazy? Perhaps. |

Here's the other issue... If I have an opinion about a topic, and can't find an existing reference that agrees with me, all I have to do is post an Amazon review, then reference my own review! This Really Bothers Me, because it allows anyone to invisibly pass themselves off as an expert. This creates the illusion that Wikipedia comprises material solely from expert sources. Which, paradoxically, is at least somewhat antithetical to the whole point of Wikipedia. |

Though I understand -- to some degree -- the need of Wikipedia staff editors to hide their actual identities, I don't ''completely'' understand it. I use my real name, and a Lycos search will reveal my address. (It no longer reveals my phone number, because I switched from my land line to my cell phone.) |
