Your bot
Your bot informed me of the speedy deletion nomination for the now-non-existent page Top 400 Restaurant Chains. This is a clear malfunction, I've never edited that page. - Patricknoddy<font color="#000000">TALK (reply here)</font><font color="#000000">|</font><font color="#000000">HISTORY</font> 19:42, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Please note: If you create a message on my talk page, I will respond on my talkpage. If I create a message on your talk page I'd like for you to respond on your talk page as well. This doesn't apply to my bot however, I can't possibly monitor if people respond on their talk page to all the edits it makes. Thanks --Android Mouse 20:49, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also note, since wikipedia has such a nice history feature, I do not keep an archive. After the page becomes over a certain size I will delete the oldest messages. --Android Mouse 16:49, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Speed Deletion
Hi, how can I prevent my page I have made on a band. all photo's are copyrigth of me and it still says speedy deletion?. what can I do? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gregoryjamesplews (talk • contribs)
First, please sign your messages on talk pages with four tildes. Second, please see the guidelines on spam to prevent your article from being deleted again. Your images are being deleted because you are probably not specifying the license you are releasing them under, or that you have permission to place them here. I although can't tell for sure because they are already deleted. Please note that neither I nor my bot nominiated your images or article for deletion, so there isn't much else I can do to help you. --Android Mouse 18:23, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I can't seem to find how to reply to the "speedy deletion" tag that has been placed on Rich Dickerson. It asks why is this person of any notability? Well, he won an Emmy Award, which not too many people have done. He wrote the music and theme song for the Warner Bros show What's New Scooby Doo? There hadn't been a new Scooby Doo series in thirty years and he was asked to score the show and did so for the entire three seasons the show ran. He was also the VP of Music for Icebox.com. He was resposible for bringing film and TV composer's to the web. Until Icebox, most web content was scored by whoever created the content on their casio or guitar. If that is not enough then that is fine.
What it is what it do niggas and bitches? yea someone went thru and deleted ma photo of an album cover.. whoever reported it can go get fucked in the ass and guess what... ima put tha fuckin picture up again... hahah guess what bitches... ima keep puttin it up too regardless if u delete my account ill make a new one. SUE ME BITCHES!!!
Interesting. Although please be aware that neither I or my bot nominiated your aritcle. --Android Mouse 18:18, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Minor bot related suggestion
Not a major issue, but seeing as people people sometimes complain about "automated messages" adding a little test in Android Mouse Bot 2 to avoid situations like this might be a good idea. Prople probably do not need a bot to tell them that they just tagged one of theyr own images for deletion after all ;) --Sherool(talk) 16:05, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I figured out the problem. The bot has, for the most part, not been issuing notifications when the creator is the same as the nominiator. This specific instance it did because of an encoding problem. When the bot found the creator the image it encoded it for use in a URL (such as replacing spaces with %20). It then preceded to find the nominator. When comparing to see if the nominator is the same as the creator it did not encode the nominator string. It was comparing "Ernst Starvo Blofeld" with "Ernst%20Starvo%20Blofeld" so thought it was two different users. This worked for the most part because many don't have spaces in their username so the encoded string was the same as the unencoded one. This is now fixed. --Android Mouse 18:16, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and the bot should probably subst it's messages. Leaving unsubsted boilplate messages on talkpages are usualy a bad idea, talk page content should not be subject to change without notice to the user, and someone could vandalise the message to deface hundreds of talk pages at once. --Sherool(talk) 16:17, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Only the introduction and the ending are unsubstituted. I did this, not intentionally but because it is the only way I could have figured out how to do it. I'd like to keep the introduction and ending as a template so that if I choose to change them I don't have to change each of the 50 or so customized templates I have, changing the template automatically updates them all. Is it possible to keep it like this but have the entire message be subst'd when placed on a talk page? --Android Mouse 18:16, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is this where I leave a message to say I accidentally put a picture of RJClutterbuck and Truncheon up - I thought I was in the Sandbox
Sorry

No problem. You although didn't place the db-author tag correctly. You forgot to put the brackets around the tag. I fixed this for you. If you still want the image deleted there is nothing more you need to do. --Android Mouse 18:31, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am sorry for the "Commercial use of Image:Mha barton 005.jpg".
I will be carefull for the next time.

No need to be sorry, especially since no one has been hurt or become angered at you. --Android Mouse 20:16, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
User:Binstig created article Northampton soundhaus, which I promptly speedy-tagged. I duly informed the user, but soon after another editor moved the article to Northampton Soundhaus, the bot sent a redundant warning to the user. Dunno if this is a bug per se, but I thought it deserved a mention. Thanks. --Finngalltalk 00:52, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think those are two seperate articles, since 'Soundhaus' is capitalized in one link but not the other. --Android Mouse 00:56, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, yes. The user got an unnecessary second warning from the bot for the same article, simply because it was moved to a (slightly) different name. Maybe it can't be helped, but I hope you get my point. --Finngalltalk 01:07, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I see what you are saying. The second page is a redirect and not a seperate article. I was assuming the user created two articles with different captililizations with the same copy-pasted text. I can perhaps have it check for redirect articles and not issue notificiations for those, or make the search case insensitive when scanning user talk pages for the accurance of article names. --Android Mouse 01:14, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am the editor who put on the "speedy delete" tag for Muller and Caulfield Architects. I did notify the creator. However, the automatic notice, which I didn't know happened, came to my talk page User Talk:Bielle. What am I doing wrong? Bielle 03:40, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I see the problem. You put the speedy deletion tag on the talk page of the article, the tag is supposed to go on the article itself. Since you nominated the Talk page for deletion the bot got tripped up and notified you (as the creator the talk page) of its nomination. Normally it wouldn't notify the creator if they also nominated the article for speedy deletion themself, but I didn't think about this rare occurance of a page being created and nominated for speedy deletion all in one edit when I wrote the bot. --Android Mouse 03:48, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Perhaps no one else will be so silly. I may have made this mistake more than once this evening. Will the articles still be automatically transferred to the appropriate page for consideration, or must I now re-do them? Sorry about the mess. I am new to this and obviously didn't read the directions carefully enough. Bielle 04:01, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. In order for the Muller and Caulfield Architects article to be reviewed for speedy deletion by an admin, you need to move the tag you placed on the talk page over to the main article. As for the talk page itself, you could replace the current speedy deletion template with db-authora which also flags it for speedy deletion but tells the admins that you are the creator (and only editor) and the page and it created in mistake. --Android Mouse 04:08, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, on second thought you probably shouldn't put the db-authora tag on the talk page, whenever an admin comes around to look at it (and possibly delete the main article) they will figure out what is best to do. --Android Mouse 04:12, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As I am not the author, it seems especially important that I do not use that tag. I wonder what else I did wrong to have you think I wrote the article? Bielle 04:15, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the misunderstanding, but I was refering to the talk page when I suggested the db-authora tag. --Android Mouse 04:18, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your bot seems marvelously effective, but perhaps you could avoid some hard feeling by giving it a name different from your own username that might include the word "bot", though I admit that "android" is reasonably close. (smile)DGG 05:10, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Do you have any ideas on a new name? I'm horrible at thinking of them. --Android Mouse 05:19, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Recently I added information on the collection history of this Roman Antiquity photographed by User:Jastrow. I can't tell what could be wrong, that this image is about to be deleted. Perhaps the bot-owner would look into it. User:Jastrow has loaded many extremely useful photos she has taken herself to Wikipedia. --Wetman 12:26, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! I noticed your bot warning people about CSD I2. It is cool that it is warning editors of impending deletions. Most of my markings for CSD I2 are for empty image description pages for Commons-hosted images and don't usually need a warning. Now people are starting to worry that I want their images deleted and that's not the case at all! What do you think I should do about this? I am also in the #wikipedia IRC channel. Thanks! --Strangerer (Talk) 13:22, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, heh, I just noticed Wetman's comment above about my speedy deletion request. In that case, I copied the information to the Commons so that it could be used on other projects because the information was not specific to this project. Then I deleted the information here and requested CSD I2. The information still shows up on the page, but it is on the Commons instead of on Wikipedia. I worry that I will spend increasing amounts of time explaining that the actual image isn't about to be deleted. On the other hand, users may want to be notified if it is the other CSD I2 case where the image is missing or corrupt. Therefore, I'm checking to see what you think. --Strangerer (Talk) 13:30, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know, what do you think would be best to do? Would it be better to not issue notifications at all for the db-i2 tag? Or do you think modifying the template to be more descriptive would be better? If so do you have any idea how I could best modify it to avoid further confusion? --Android Mouse 16:01, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
LGBT animals
LGBT animals is not nonsense. Deleting it is a form of homophobia. Please reconsider putting it back. Thank you. I appreciate it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tawniz (talk • contribs)
According to the message my bot left you, it was nominated for speedy deletion by User:Jaksmata. I didn't delete it either. --Android Mouse 16:45, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Nonsense of Sin bin
Your bot left me a message, I believe erroneously. I've elaborated at User talk:Jnestorius#Nonsense of Sin bin rather than here, because I've also notified another user who may be interested. Regards, jnestorius(talk) 00:37, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
From the looks of the discussion on your talk page, it appears the issue has been resolved with the one who nominated the article for speedy deletion. --Android Mouse 06:33, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You have a bot setup to delete double redirects?
I can find wikipolicy against double redirects, but not any in favor of deleting them. Can you switch the bot the ittiest bit so it, I don't know, CORRECTS double redirects rather then deletes them? It's not that hard to avoid an infinite loop. Mathiastck 07:45, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
My bot doesn't delete anything, it only notifies users when the articles they created have become nominated for speedy deletion. --Android Mouse 16:25, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
On a side note, do you consider yourself a deletionist? Mathiastck 07:45, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, neither I or my bot even have the technical capability of deleting articles. --Android Mouse 16:26, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Speed deleteion of User:Spanish2
Hi there, I just received notification of the planned deletion for this item. I apologise for not getting the coding and templates right, I'm a newbie and I suppose I shouldn't have been doing that kind of thing yet, because I've clearly gotten it wrong.
If you could let me know how I can go about fixing this problem and how to prevent this new userbox being deleted I would be very grateful.
As you can see, I have added this userbox to the following list: 2 with the intent that it be added along with the other content there.
Sorry again for any inconvenience.--TeDejoMadrid 17:27, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, it looks like you have created the infobox in the wrong namespace. You've created User Spanish2 in the main namespace (only encyclopedia articles go here) and one in the user space User:Spanish2 (only userpages go here). What you are looking for is to create the userbox in the template namespace, such as Template:Spanish2. Also, welcome to wikipedia! --Android Mouse 17:31, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thanks for replying so quick. Okay, I understand now I've went wrong by not creating a template, but how should I go about fixing this problem now? I'm not entirely sure how to fix the entry, so would I be better leaving it to be deleted and creating a new template? Thanks for the welcome, too, by the way!--TeDejoMadrid 17:38, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Since User:Spanish2 isn't yet marked for speedy deletion, I would suggest you add the db-authora tag to it, for it to be deleted. Then recreate the userbox whever you'd like in the template namespace, such as at Template:Spanish2. --Android Mouse 17:45, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much, I've done as you said and everything seems to be okay now. You've been a great help!--TeDejoMadrid 17:50, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
