{{ping|Hawkeye7}} FACBot posted [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Vami_IV&diff=prev&oldid=1210096247 this], despite the fact that the page contains <code><nowiki>{{nobots}}</nowiki></code>. Just letting you know FYI, as the [[Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/FACBot|BRFA]] says that it should be exclusion compliant.

What does the bot use to identify where to update this page? I'm intending to move it over to CSS Grid / more flexy / media query-ey and I don't want to mess with the bot. [[User:Izno|Izno]] ([[User talk:Izno|talk]]) 23:07, 23 September 2022 (UTC)

: There are two of them, for Featured Articles and Featured Lists. For the former, it looks for the comment

:{{red|<nowiki><!-- Articles ((\d+), most recent first) --></nowiki>}}

:and puts the new article after it. It then reads until it finds the comment:

:{{red|<nowiki><!-- Topics ((\d+), most recent first) --></nowiki>}}

:The number of articles to list is controlled by the regular expression. If it would be exceeded, then the last one will be dropped.

:The Featured list processing works the same way, but looks for "Lists" and "Pictures" instead.

:I can alter the way it works of course. Let me know what you propose. [[User:Hawkeye7|<span style="color:#800082">Hawkeye7</span>]] [[User_talk:Hawkeye7|<span style="font-size:80%">(discuss)</span>]] 00:21, 24 September 2022 (UTC)

Hi Hawkeye, the bot doesn't seem to have closed this withdrawn nom although I can't see anything obvious like a change of article name mid-review or some such. OTOH the nominator had themselves removed the FAC template from the article talk page before I performed the archive -- that screw up the works...? [[Bengali language movement]] was switched out, but [[WP:URFA/2020A]] still shows it at 2023-02-21 (that needs to be reverted to its maindate1). I don't mind changing them manually if necessary, as that sort of thing is rare and probably hard to code, but I'm not sure if I'll be notified on all of them. : Yes, if an article gets swapped out it must be processed manually. It used to be unheard of, but it has happened a bit lately. == New FL delegate ==

Hey {{u|Hawkeye7}}, we just added a new FL delegate, Hey man im josh. The ancient closing instructions imply that the bot only closes nominations correctly if the template is placed on the nomination by a coordinator it recognizes. Also, thanks for all this bot does for us! --'''[[User:PresN|<span class="tmp-color" style="color:green">Pres</span>]][[User talk:PresN|<span class="tmp-color" style="color:blue">N</span>]]''' 14:57, 1 July 2024 (UTC)

New FL delegate[edit]

Hey Hawkeye7, we just added a new FL delegate, Hey man im josh. The ancient closing instructions imply that the bot only closes nominations correctly if the template is placed on the nomination by a coordinator it recognizes. I don't know if that's true or not, but if it is, then there's a new authorized closer at FLC it should know about. Also, thanks for all this bot does for us! --PresN 14:57, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The Bot figures out who the coordinators are by looking in Template:@FLC. You updated this to add the new coordinator, so everything should be fine. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 18:57, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
