Hi Morganfitzp! When you created a new article on en.wikipedia.org and there is e.g. already an article on de.wikipedia.org it is enough to add an interwiki link in your newly created article. Welcome

Hello, Morganfitzp, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Newcomers help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Your signature, and Queer people of color

Hey Morgan, a couple things. I noticed you went back to the AfD nom for Queer people of color and changed some of the capitalization. If you go to your preferences, you can change the capitalization there so it always comes out as you want it (or you can get really crazy and change the color, font, put in links, etc.). Thought you'd like to know.

I also wanted to say something about your comment that deletion of Queer people of color would amount to bigotry. As the editor who nominated this article for deletion, I won't take your comment personally, but do hope you understand how i could easily take those comments to mean that I'm a bigot. Oftentimes discussions on Wikipedia can get heated and so it's important to keep a cool head; I hope that in the future you choose to use less inflammatory language.

Anyway, while we don't see eye to eye on the deletion of this article, I do hope that, regardless of the outcome of this AfD, we can collaborate in the future. Please let me know if I can help you with anything, be it technical, content-oriented, or admin-duty-related. Truly, JDoorjam Talk 02:04, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Its important for the sustenance of level-headed discussion not to dissect words as character assassination but to underscore what the proposed act of deletion really stands for in the given context. There are users that add peoples' names hardly categorized as a notable or historical figure(for example, a singer of a garage band whose career fell short after a couple of years), slang words/phrases(*there is abundant intellectualizing over the word "yo"- which also gets tossed into the controversy as arbitrarily taking up space), that are left unbothered. If an organization was called Queer People of Color how would that affect its nomination for being characterized as an "appropriate" encyclopedic definition? The reiterated "its just a term" response shows indication that those who are people of color exist and acknowledge it as self-identification and a strategic means to anti-colonialism and community building, queer people of color do not or have not done anything to make a mark for themselves to be recognized as an oppressed group of people. This arrival itself is censorship and oppression of voice. Anarkafrica 16:24, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Recreations

You have recently created Template:User userbox deleted. This was deleted in accordance with Wikipedia's deletion policies. Please do not recreate the article: if you disagree with the article's deletion, you may ask for a review at Wikipedia:Deletion review. Dmcdevit·t 08:01, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Card game user templates

Well, they are not deleted yet, but that is the plan. However, if you have game specific images, I am very interested. I can add them to the master template. Also, I can give you a little gift to help with making your user page a bit more interesting where the card game user templates are concerned. Interested?
—Lady Aleena talk/contribs 07:11, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PS. I don't consider my user page fancy, I have seen a lot of user pages here, and mine is a bit plain by comparison. If you want to have the user infobox I have on the right hand side of my user page, let me know. I can help you get it. If there is anything else on my user page that you like, tell me and I will help you get it done on yours. I don't mind letting people copy me. :) - LA @ 07:16, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:EdBrown JimCopp.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:EdBrown JimCopp.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 07:54, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

interested in the Portuguese-speaking world

Hi. I'm Beth, known on Wikipedia as Learnportuguese. I am very interested in the Portuguese language and the Portuguese-speaking world. The whole concept of saudade is fascinating. If you want, chek out my user page and talk page and put a watch on both. I have very interesting discussions there. You are very welcome to contribute. :-) learnportuguese (talk) 16:26, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

tip, but please do not reply

Posting major contributions and marking them as minor edits is not a good practice. I thought I'd let you know. It makes it harder to find your messages. :-) learnportuguese (talk) 01:21, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I saw your work at Agro-. You're right to see agri- as an alternative to agro-, but it seems to me that agro- is more common as a prefix than agri-. I had the idea of setting up a page on agri-, but many of the words would simply overlap. I guess the taxonomic names and proper nouns would not, but the agricultural ones would. I've had a little bit of an edit to accommodate your change. Are you happy with that? - Richard Cavell (talk) 05:06, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Stick Men (band)

A tag has been placed on Stick Men (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Nikkimaria (talk) 22:05, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on USAISAMONSTER requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}tothe top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Passportguy (talk) 16:04, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Morganfitzp! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 869 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Byron Coley - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 20:10, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Flour (band) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A search for references failed to find significant coverage in reliable sources to comply with notability requirements. This included web searches for news coverage, books, and journals, which can be seen from the following links:
Flour (band)news, books, scholar
Consequently, this article is about a subject that appears to lack sufficient notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Darkwind (talk) 02:33, 26 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Instant (album) for deletion

A discussion has begun about whether the article Instant (album), which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Instant (album) until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Jrtayloriv (talk) 06:50, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Killed By Death (albums) for deletion

The article Killed By Death (albums) is being discussed concerning whether it is suitable for inclusion as an article according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Killed By Death (albums) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. —Justin (koavf)TCM19:38, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:51, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Roy Paci. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

November 2011

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Forrest yoga a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. —KuyaBriBriTalk 22:22, 18 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
