The Film and Media Studies program (FMS)atTufts University,[1] formerly known as Communications and Media Studies (CMS), located in Massachusetts; it is the university's most extensive interdisciplinary minor program.[2] It offers undergraduate majors, and minors in film, and media studies and is affiliated with the Experimental College at Tufts.[3] Since 1997, FMS has awarded minors to nearly 1000 students.[4] Additionally, FMS supports student internships for academic credit in various media companies globally.[5] FMS also sponsors awards and events, such as The Edward R. Murrow Forum on Issues in Journalism, The Eliot-Pearson Awards for Excellence in Children’s Media, and the P.T. Barnum Awards for Excellence in Entertainment.[6]
