Fair use rationale for Image:Victor Stone-Cyborg.jpg[edit]

Image:Victor Stone-Cyborg.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

WikiProject Comics B-Class Assesment required[edit]

This article needs the B-Class checklist filled in to remain a B-Class article for the Comics WikiProject. If the checklist is not filled in by 7th August this article will be re-assessed as C-Class. The checklist should be filled out referencing the guidance given at Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment/B-Class criteria. For further details please contact the Comics WikiProject. The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: not moved. (non-admin closure) James (talk/contribs) 09:57, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Cyborg (comics)Cyborg (DC Comics) – It's easy to see how the current disambiguation is too vague. It's unclear whether it refers to any cyborg that appears in a comic book, or Cyborg the character. Adding "DC" would make it more obvious that it's a specific DC Comics character. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 15:07, 17 November 2017 (UTC) --Relisting. Mahveotm (talk) 15:31, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I think it would be more appropriate to rename it as Cyborg (DC Comics character).--NeoBatfreak (talk) 12:01, 20 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Aside from Hank Henshaw, who is also a DC Comics character, how many other characters are known as Cyborg? Per the Comics MOS, Cyborg (character) is preferred unless there is a conflict. That page currently redirects to a DAB page. Argento Surfer (talk) 13:07, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

JasonBWilliams (talk) 20:08, 22 November 2017 (UTC)Cyborg is definitely too vague. [1]A quick search of titles in the Grand Comic Database (www.comics.org) lists 176 comic book stories with "cyborg" in the title. Over 40 of those are not published by DC Comics so definitely needs to be changed. Prime example of the Six Million Dollar Man who was also a cyborg.[reply]

While there are several titles with the term cyborg in is there any evidence that any other character is actually know as Cyborg specifically or are they simply identified as a cyborg? I also don’t see how the Six Million Dollar Man is relevant since as mentioned there is a difference between a character being a cyborg and being regularly identified as Cyborg by name which the commit database alone does not prove.--67.68.21.146 (talk) 02:38, 25 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

Character Bio is Incomprehensible[edit]

The character bio is poorly written and impossible to understand. It doesn't tell a story. How did Victor Stone become part machine? Why is a he a Cyborg? The bio doesn't actually explain this, and the sections read like a bunch of unrelated stories copied and pasted together. Techielaw (talk) 15:51, 20 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 14 December 2020[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: MovedtoCyborg (DC Comics), requested admin help at the RMT because the current title is move-protected ─ The Aafī (talk) 14:43, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Cyborg (comics)Cyborg (Victor Stone)Wikipedia:Naming conventions (comics)#Disambiguation. There was another DC Comics character in the past was also referred as Cyborg, who is Hank Henshaw, now more recognizes as Cyborg Superman. Also, "articles primarily about a publication should use the phrase (comics)", not on character.--NeoBatfreak (talk) 06:04, 14 December 2020 (UTC) Relisting. TheTVExpert (talk) 15:14, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't it be 'Cyborg (Character)' based on that policy? Because there aren't multiple characters called cyborg. blindlynx (talk) 19:51, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Henshaw is known as Cyborg Superman not Cyborg on its own so it’s far more likely than someone looking him up would type Cyborg Superman. There also was a failed request a few years back that should be addressed.--65.92.160.124 (talk) 02:30, 15 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The previous request to move this to (DC Comics) was rejected, has something changed since then? Also even if it needs to be moved I believe (character) would work since the only other relevant entry is Henshaw, who is better known as Cyborg Superman not Cyborg on its own.--65.92.160.124 (talk) 20:50, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I am just reiterating my belief that it is the proper target and the previous discussion was wrongfully rejected. There are too many Cyborg "characters" outside comics for the (character) disambiguation to function properly at all.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 21:01, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Would that be characters that are cyborgs or characters that specially known as cyborg since that is a different thing altogether? For example the Six Million Dollar Man would be a cyborg but I doubt anyone looking him up would type cyborg as a search term.--65.92.160.124 (talk) 21:20, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The notion of a cyborg as a stock character type would also potentially clash with it. We already have Supersoldier for example. There is just too much potential confusion.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 03:32, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Disambiguation is used to distinguish between existing articles, not potential ones. I think the hatnote is sufficient for readers looking for the only other character who's commonly called "Cyborg". I also trust readers looking for information about Cyborgs to find Cyborg without additional help. Argento Surfer (talk) 20:43, 8 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
