Change in hostels[edit]

no hostels are available in iit

Moving page[edit]

It has been suggested that this article be moved to Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. (Discuss here) — Ambuj Saxena (talk) 06:25, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any article on Poverty of Technology or Management on Wikipedia?[edit]

Alumni listings[edit]

I removed a few names in the list. While it is quite possible that all the people listed there may have achieved a good meansure of success and recognition, they need to be really distinguished to be mentioned here at Wikipedia. Winning the President's Gold Medal for instance cannot be regarded as a valid criterion for being a notable alumni. After all, someone gets that every year. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Singularity64 (talkcontribs) 01:21, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stanford?[edit]

Wasn't Stanford one of the Universities in KIAP, the group founding... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Charles Merriam (talkcontribs) 20:28, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

IITK related Files without description[edit]

If someone adds proper description of above file, they can used here and also transferred to wikicommons, (pl. add template {{to commons}}, thereafter). Thanks! --Ekabhishektalk 18:20, 18 April 2010 (UTC) Also, some newly uploaded files:[reply]

intra iit fests?[edit]

should a one liner be added about what they are about, rather than just enumerating them? Or maybe have them point to pages of their own? Cyniciam (talk) 12:35, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Could it be clarified in what ways the IIT/Kanpur page does not seem to come to the requisite expectations and standards of the Wikipedia, so that it might be improved accordingly? (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 10:18, 2 April 2011 (UTC).[reply]

Expand the history section[edit]

There is a lot of history behind the establishment of iit kanpur; a lot of which will be very useful for this article. Please expand the history section.PratikMallya 23:25, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Details regarding student hostels and facilities[edit]

I believe new students interested in admission will access this page. Shouldn't we provide details regarding the hostels and the facilities? Right now it just says there is infrastructure for promoting personal growth, which seems a bit vague. I suggest adding details regarding the sporting facilities, which does not seem to be represented. We should also elaborate on the facilities available in the hostels.

Astrokid (talk) 13:52, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, please add those details. Use primary sources if needed just to establish existence (not in a promo-like tone though). Lynch7 14:03, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Per WP:UNIGUIDE a discussion of the campus, including hostels and other facilities is appropriate. General discussion about sporting facilities should fall under the same section. Elaborating on hostel facilities seems to me to be both promotional and trivial. Students who are interested in admission should go to the institute website, not to Wikipedia. That's the only reason we have that "External links" section. --Muhandes (talk) 18:59, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Logo and website[edit]

The people of IITK and aother IITs don't know how to design a proper, uniform looking website as of 2013. What is the use? -Polytope4d (talk) 11:54, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
