Irrelevant information removal request on 19 September 2022

[edit]

Hello, there are a few pieces of information on this page that are incorrect, such as [4] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R/wallstreetbets#cite_note-4) which refers to a separate incident of moderators being removed in 2021, whereas Jartek ("Jaime Rogozinski") was removed in 2020.

In addition, Jaime Rogozinski is truly irrelevant to the community, they were removed in January of 2020, before the community was particularly notable.

Source 1: https://www.dailydot.com/debug/wall-street-bets-reddit-jartek/ Source 2: https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/fx5zwf/ladies_and_gentlemen_we_got_him/

As a result, mention of him should be removed from the introduction and infopanel.

Finally the infopanel includes information that is either irrelevant (Language: English) or out of date (Users should be updated to 12.6 million "subscribers" as opposed to "members").

Would it be possible to make these changes? Happy to provide any additional sources as needed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:FEA8:86E3:5D00:B586:DD2D:209B:EE10 (talk) 21:40, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hate Speech based on RS

[edit]

The discord server was terminated for 'hate speech", "glorifying violence", & "misinformation" and it is being widely reported as a haven for this activity in RS. This organization should be labeled as such in tags to reflect the consensus of reliable reporting and added to the growing list of banned content providers.

Its discord server getting banned does not prove that the subreddit in itself 'glorifies violence'. If you believe that that is the case, find reliable sources that back it up, because the ones you provided don't.
PS: Cope.

Surly Discord wouldn't be making the charges up to make purging controversial speech more convenient?TuffStuffMcG (talk) 02:49, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Surely they would and are. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.43.14.99 (talk) 22:21, 17 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Many credible outlets have discussed not only the profane nature of the subreddit but the fact a large majority of it's users are likely part of the alt-right, Qanon conspiracy groups and white supremacists groups in general. I believe this is being downplayed in the current incarnation of this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:BB6:6871:B658:D52F:F02:E04E:AA36 (talk) 20:23, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Beliefs are one thing but Wikipedia is based on reliable sources. Find some that support this viewpoint and are not included in the article, and you could even spell out specific text you would include. — Bilorv (talk) 01:38, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Prove it, loser. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.43.14.99 (talk) 22:18, 17 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Can I edit the amount of users because it is incorrect? The right number is 7,576,035. I got this number from the Reddit page on Jan 31 2021 at 6:46 pm EST Giby69 (talk) 23:46, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
