Of course there is. Dinosaurs were reptiles. Birds are birds. Birds are not reptiles, so birds cannot be "theropod dinosaurs". They have evolved from them, but just like whales are not even-toed ungulates, birds are not dinosaurs. Tisquesusa (talk) 00:02, 8 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but that's not how classification works nowadays. Paleontology in particular has become more and more rooted in phylogeny and its law of monophyly. This is why birds being considered reptiles by and large is literally in the second paragraph of the reptile article. Do not try and argue this with WP:DINO. You will not win.
