Featured and good topics in Wikipedia

This star symbolizes the featured topic candidates on Wikipedia.
This star symbolizes the featured topic candidates on Wikipedia.

GA icon symbolizing Good topic candidates on Wikipedia.
Afeatured topic is a collection of inter-related articles that are of a good quality (though are not necessarily featured articles).

Agood topic is a collection of inter-related articles that are of a good quality (though are not necessarily featured articles) with a less stringent quality threshold than a featured topic.

This page is for the nomination of potential featured and good topics. See the featured and good topic criteria for criteria on both types of topic. If you would like to ask any questions about your topic and the featured/good topic process before submitting it, visit Wikipedia talk:Featured and good topic candidates.

Before nominating a topic, nominators may wish to receive feedback by listing it at Featured and good topic questions. Nominators must be sufficiently familiar with the subject matter and sources to deal with objections during the FTC/GTC process. If you nominate something you have worked on, note it as a self-nomination. Nominators who are not significant contributors to the articles of the topic should consult regular editors of the articles prior to nomination. Nominators are expected to respond positively to constructive criticism and to make an effort to address objections promptly.

The featured and good topics coordinators Aza24, MaranoFan and Gog the Mild determine the timing of the process for each nomination. For a nomination to be promoted to FT or GT status, consensus must be reached for a group to be promoted to featured or good topic status. If enough time passes without objections being resolved, nominations will be removed from the candidates topic and archived.

To contact the FTC coordinators, please leave a message on the FTC talk page, or use the {{@FTC}} notification template elsewhere.

You may want to check previous archived nominations first:

    Nomination procedure[edit]

To create a new nomination use the form below (e.g., Wikipedia:Featured and good topic candidates/Saffron/archive1) and click the "Create new nomination" button.

Once the nomination page is created, remember to transclude it in the appropriate section below, to leave nomination templates on the talk pages of the articles nominated for the topic. For detailed instructions on how to nominate topics or add articles to existing topics, see Wikipedia:Featured and good topic candidates/Nomination procedure.

    Supporting and objecting[edit]

Please review all the articles of the nominated topic with the featured and good topic criteria in mind before deciding to support or oppose a nomination.

    • To edit nominations in order to comment on them, you must click the "edit" link to the right of the article nomination on which you wish to comment (not the overall page's "edit this page" link).
    • If you approve of a nomination, write '''Support''' followed by your reasons. Supports that clearly evaluate the criteria will be weighted more than those that do not.
    • If you oppose a nomination, write '''Oppose''' or '''Object''' followed by the reason for your objection. Each objection must provide a specific rationale that can be addressed. If nothing can be done in principle to fix the source of the objection, the objection may be ignored.
      • To withdraw an objection, strike it out (with <s>...</s>) rather than removing it.

For a topic to be promoted to featured or good topic status, consensus must be reached that it meets the criteria. The FGTC coordinators are usually the ones to assess this consensus and close FGTC discussions. If there is a consensus to promote, the promote instructions are located here. If enough time passes without objections being resolved (at least one week), nominations will be removed from the candidates list and archived. Nominations will stay here for ten days if there is unanimous consent, or longer if warranted by debate.

    Featured topic nominations[edit]

Meghan Trainor albums (1st supplementary nomination)[edit]

This topic is already featured. It is being re-nominated to add additional items. See Wikipedia talk:Featured topics/Meghan Trainor albums for discussions of the topic's previous nominations. The additional items are:

    1. Timeless (Meghan Trainor album)
    Title (subtopic)
    Thank You (subtopic)
    Treat Myself (subtopic)
    A Very Trainor Christmas
    Timeless

In this update to the Trainor albums topic, her latest album, Timeless, joins the ranks after being promoted to GA.--NØ 04:31, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

    1993 Atlantic hurricane season (1st supplementary nomination)[edit]

This topic is already featured. It is being re-nominated to add additional items. See Wikipedia talk:Featured topics/1993 Atlantic hurricane season for discussions of the topic's previous nominations. The additional items are:

    1. Timeline of the 1993 Atlantic hurricane season
    Tropical Storm Arlene
    Tropical Storm Cindy
    Hurricane Gert
    Timeline

This supplemental nomination adds the season's timeline, which passed FLC a couple days ago. Currently a good topic, the inclusion of the timeline would result in the topic having 50% featured content and therefore being upgraded to a featured topic. History of the National Hockey League[edit]

The history of the National Hockey League begins with the end of its predecessor league, the National Hockey Association (NHA), in 1917. After unsuccessfully attempting to resolve disputes with Eddie Livingstone, owner of the Toronto Blueshirts, executives of the three other NHA franchises suspended the NHA, and formed the National Hockey League (NHL), replacing the Livingstone team with a temporary team in Toronto, the Arenas. The NHL's first quarter-century saw the league compete against two rival major leagues—the Pacific Coast Hockey Association and Western Canada Hockey League—for players and the Stanley Cup. The NHL first expanded into the United States in 1924 with the founding of the Boston Bruins, and by 1926 consisted of ten teams in Ontario, Quebec, the Great Lakes region, and the Northeastern United States. At the same time, the NHL emerged as the only major league and the sole competitor for the Stanley Cup; in 1947, the NHL completed a deal with the Stanley Cup trustees to gain full control of the Cup. The NHL's footprint spread across CanadaasFoster Hewitt's radio broadcasts were heard coast-to-coast starting in 1933.

    Good topic nominations[edit]

Kanye West studio albums (2nd supplementary nomination)[edit]

This topic is already featured. It is being re-nominated to add additional items. See Wikipedia talk:Featured topics/Kanye West studio albums for discussions of the topic's previous nominations. The additional items are:

    1. Vultures 1

    Donda
    Donda 2
    Vultures 1

I have now brought West's latest collaborative effort Vultures 1 with Ty Dolla Sign to GA status just under half a year after its release, although the nomination had been initiated well within the retention period! Having gone number one in multiple countries, the album is a worthy addition to the topic (shout out ULPS for working with me on the article) however I would like to check in retrospect with comments below is there a consensus if Donda 2 should still be included after West revealed it was a demo album? --K. Speak Now (Taylor's Version)[edit]

    2014–15 Arsenal F.C. season[edit]

The 2014–15 Arsenal season was the club's 111th year in England's top tier and the 23rd consecutive year in the Premier League. Arsenal finished third in the league whilst also winning both the FA Community Shield and the FA Cup. Arsenal were defeated in the third round of the Football League Cup against Southampton, and the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League against AS Monaco. Arsenal's FA Cup win was the 12th in the history of the club which was the most successful in the history of the competition.

I believe this topic meets all the required criteria outlined in WP:FT. The listed articles provide a complete overview of all notable matches played by the club during the season. This topic is very similar to others listed on the Arsenal task force page such as 2005–06, 1988–89, and 1991–92. --Idiosincrático (talk) 14:48, 23 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

    Worlds[edit]

Worlds is the debut studio album by American electronic music producer Porter Robinson, released on August 12, 2014, by Astralwerks. Initially known for his heavier bass-centric production, Robinson became increasingly dissatisfied with the electronic dance music (EDM) genre, believing it limited his artistic expression. Following the release of his 2012 single "Language", Robinson decided to prioritize aesthetic and emotional qualities in his work, taking inspiration from media that evoked nostalgia for his childhood and integrating elements taken from anime, films, and sounds from 1990s video games. The album was promoted with four singles and later a tour in North America and Europe. Worlds was well-received by most critics, who praised it as innovative and forecasted a promising career for Robinson, though others felt the record lacked coherence or was unexciting. The album has been retrospectively noted for its impact on the EDM scene.

This is a topic comprising the Porter Robinson album Worlds and its four singles. After months of work, it now meets all good topic criteria. This is mainly the result of a collaboration between me and TechnoSquirrel69. Worlds was promoted to FA in a co-nomination between us (also, Techno wrote this lead intro, which will also be used for the TFA blurb). "Sea of Voices" was mainly written by Techno, while "Sad Machine" and "Lionhearted" were mainly written by me. "Flicker" was mainly written by EditorE back in 2016, but we made edits to ensure that it retained its GA quality. I want to thank Techno for this collaboration, all FAC and GAN reviewers, and everyone else who contributed to the topic. --Skyshiftertalk 11:41, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Jesus Is King (1st supplementary nomination)[edit]

This topic is already featured. It is being re-nominated to add additional items. See Wikipedia talk:Featured topics/Jesus Is King for discussions of the topic's previous nominations. The additional items are:

    1. "God Is"
    "Follow God"
    "Closed on Sunday"
    "Everything We Need"
    "Water"
    "God Is"
    "Use This Gospel"
    "Jesus Is Lord"
    Jesus Is King (film)
    Contributor(s): K. Peake, Nice4What

After doing more research around four and a half years following the release of Jesus Is King, I managed to find enough sourcing to make an article for "God Is" and have brought it to GA status already to be added to the album's topic now the song is no longer a mere redirect! --K. The Immaculate Collection[edit]

The Immaculate Collection is the first greatest hits album by American singer Madonna, released on November 13, 1990, by Sire Records. It contains fifteen of her hit singles recorded throughout the 1980s, as well as two brand new tracks, "Justify My Love" and "Rescue Me". All the previously released material were reworked through the QSound audio technology, becoming the first ever album to use it. Meanwhile, the new material saw Madonna working with Lenny Kravitz and Shep Pettibone. The album's title is a pun on the Immaculate Conception, a Marian dogma of the Catholic Church. The release of the album was accompanied by a same-titled home video release, an EP titled The Holiday Collection, and a box set titled The Royal Box.

Lists of UEFA club competition winning managers[edit]

    UEFA Cup Winners' Cup
    UEFA Intertoto Cup
    Intercontinental Cup

The Intercontinental Cup (IC) winning manager list did not exist at the time of promotion in 2008. Similar to the winning clubs topic, the IC was a UEFA-organised club competition and is included in the lead's list. Unless someone promotes the list, this topic does not satisfy the criteria for a complete topic (criteria 1. d). Idiosincrático (talk) 14:05, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Comment I plan on doing some work on the IC winning managers this weekend, and will nominate it at FLC once the IC finals list has a bit more support. NapHit (talk) 21:41, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @NapHit, just wanted to check in and see how this is going? Aza24 (talk) 21:21, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've fixed the accessibility issues on the tables and I'm going to tidy up the lead over the weekend and then nominate it at FLC now that my current list has three supports. NapHit (talk) 21:30, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Lists of UEFA club competition winning clubs[edit]

    UEFA Cup and Europa League
    UEFA Europa Conference League
    UEFA Cup Winners' Cup
    Intercontinental Cup

The UEFA Europa Conference League is a relatively new competition and did not exist at the time of the 2008 FT nomination. Additionally, the Intercontinental Cup list did not exist at the time of the nomination either, it should be included as it was jointly administered by both UEFA and CONMEBOL, and the competition is included in the lead article tallies. Without these lists reaching recognised status, this topic fails criteria 1d and 1e, thus it should be delisted. The UEFA Women's Champions League list is not included as the lead article only outlines men's competitions. Idiosincrático (talk) 01:13, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Intercontinental Cup last has now been nominated at FLC. NapHit (talk) 17:36, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Delist Wait, UEFA Europa Conference League has been promoted and there is clearly no desire to help promote the list of matches. List of matches is being worked on. 48JCLTALK 13:36, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to work on the other list tomorrow and nominate it, which I mentioned above. NapHit (talk) 19:19, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
