Wikipedia:Huggle/FeedbackWikipedia talk:Huggle/Feedback – A lot of templates do not work under the Wikipedia namespace, including {{requested move}} and {{Edit template-protected}} (See [1]). Wikipedia talk seems a more appropriate place. 0xDeadbeef 10:10, 16 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Huggle not logged in on startup and stealthily logs out

[edit]

Sometimes when starting Huggle, I find I am not logged in. I get the message:

It looks that you were logged out of MediaWiki for whatever reason. Because huggle doesn't store your password, it is necessary to provide it again so that it can try to relog you. Please enter your password in the box bellow [sic].
Options: Exit huggle without saving your configs, Relog.

Relog has never worked. I have to exit Huggle and restart.
After working nominally for a while, my reverts and warnings are no longer performed. It appears I was stealthily logged out. Edits are undone and no warning was added to the user's talk page. This occurs much less often then the initial login problem.
I do see a lot of warnings and errors on startup, including:

Any idea what is going on here? Is there something I can do to fix it? Would it be possible to add something that would continuously or as least periodically check the login status? Especially on startup? Thank you! Adakiko (talk) 21:18, 29 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

BTW: The initial login issue seems to occur in clusters; good logins for a period then difficulty in logging in for a period. Adakiko (talk) 22:07, 29 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This has been happening to me too. I have no idea why Huggle / MediaWiki is doing this. Jalen Folf (Bark[s]) 16:28, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notification error

[edit]

Sometimes, when I tag a page with speedy deletion, Huggle notifies the incorrect user.[2][3]. Ae245 (talk) 09:25, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

When I click the "whitelist" link at the top of the page, it takes me to this page, giving an error message. GoldRomean (talk) 18:55, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Separate block and delete buttons

[edit]

See https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log&page=Handwriting and https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?oldid=1234934837#Mistaken_deletion. Is there a chance that the buttons for blocking and page deletion could be separated from each other, so it's harder to click one when you're trying to click the other? I've never used Huggle myself and don't plan to, so I can't offer further feedback. Nyttend (talk) 22:10, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Automatically added to list of users – an unapproved automated edit

[edit]

I'm not a fan of the fact that users are automatically added to Wikipedia:Huggle/Users. Apparently, every time you sign in with the tool it will re-add you to the list, even if you've removed yourself. I don't agree with the premise that logging in should cause the tool to automatically make an edit that I did not intend for it to. Please provide opt out functionality or turn this off. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:05, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Hey man im josh: I do not know enough about how this works, but perhaps you could try putting:
userlistsync: false
in to your own Special:MyPage/huggle.yaml.js ? — xaosflux Talk 13:38, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the suggestion @Xaosflux. I may have placed it at the wrong spot in the file for all I know, but I gave it a shot and I was still re-added. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:57, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, you'll have to wait for one of the developers to comment. You could also try to open a feature request (perhaps allowing override in the user yaml file). — xaosflux Talk 14:25, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
