The Corpsee

The Corpse

No one had found water in the soil.
No one had seen plants sprouting above the ground.
No creatures had put their feet on the ground.
From time to time, surface flakes of the land joined the blast of wind.
No one had found petroleum in a lower stratum of the earth.
One realized the earth remained as the invariable constituent.
The earth extended vastly enough to reject any surveying.
One had recognized it was the body of the woman.
Then one found it being alive.

                                         (Translated Kay Muramatsu)
