LibrePlanet is an organizing space for everyone in the free software and free culture movements to collaborate around their own needs and concerns. LibrePlanet will work to provide the necessary infrastructure, tools, and resources to help free software proponents amplify their advocacy.

This site runs on Mediawiki using a alternate default theme which you can change back to a Wikipedia-like theme in your user preferences.

    Founding Documents

So that the name 'LibrePlanet' is strongly associated with a clear goal, and so individual groups can cooperate and collaborate effectively, all LibrePlanet participants agree with a set of foundational principles. Participants are still free to act independently and have their own understandings within teams, but these are the principles which apply to the broader LibrePlanet project and we recommend that they be used for all activity.

The mission of LibrePlanet is to empower a global network of both local and project-based teams, all working together to advance free software as a social movement for user freedom.

The LibrePlanet Code of Conduct exists to create a set of community norms for a comfortable and welcoming space for as many people as possible.

Our sponsor, the Free Software Foundation

LibrePlanet is hosted by the Free Software Foundation, a nonprofit with a worldwide mission to promote computer user freedom and to defend the rights of all free software users. The Free Software Foundation also hosts the yearly LibrePlanet Conference. The FSF's work is supported by donations from people that care about computer user-freedom. Please become an associate member, or donate to support this wiki and other free software community efforts.
