Strategic Goals

●Maintain Plone 6.x as the stable, production-ready foundation for the regular five-year support period (2022–2027). ●Deliver Plone 7 as a transformative, modern, and accessible CMS platform built on next-generation web technologies (2027–2032). ●Plone 8 is expected to be released in 2032 as the successor to Plone 7, with 5 years of security support (2032–2037). ●Strengthen Plone’s developer ecosystem, community governance, and long-term resilience.

●Stability first, innovation always: Within the current major release branch (6.x), we prioritize stability over innovation—our focus for the next major release branch (7.x) is to innovate and use the latest technologies. ●Community-driven: Plone Improvement Proposal (PLIP) process for improvements, open sprints, and transparent planning via the Plone Steering Circle and regular Plone roadmap updates. ●Accessibility, security, and user-friendliness are core priorities. ●Sustainability: Maintainable architecture and community health. ●Transparency: Open discussions, clear governance, regular updates.
