"Scientists" in the headline should be in quotes.
That they have made all these pronouncements about how to handle autism and ONLY NOW have decided it is actually not even a thing should shame all these bastards into shutting up NOW and staying quiet until they have done the science to back up their ideas for effective handling of it. And any other psychology theme-of-the-day they pretend to understand but do not.

As to your statement, no. Psychology is not "bull". It is just very, very difficult and hard to get right. But it is also quite worthwhile to do so and that is why sane people keep trying.
