Whatever the reason, it did not help. Or maybe it made him wary to hide his crimes better. But he is still uneducated on top of being dumb. He is basically illiterate. Everything has to be broken down to simplistic statements for him. I still remember how shocked experts trying to brief him at the start of his first time in office were.
Without all his inherited money, the best he could ever have hoped for was used-car salesperson. But very likely he would simply be in prison for rape or worse.

I feel really sorry for anyone renting that's at the mercy of both their landlord and the utility companies, as neither cares how expensive life is for you.
Well. I am renting. I get a detailed break-down of all costs, including how the rent is calculated. There are strict regulatory limits on how much profit they are allowed to make. And the utility is the city.
See, this can be done right. Just not in greed-nation, I guess.

Obviously. They could also push an "update" specifically made for you at any time. The whole approach is only secure as long as the provider is not targeting you in any way. Which makes it unsuitable for anything needing real security.

In some places that works economically with simply buying storage, agreed.

He may be basing that of the European grid, which is pretty reliable. I have had two outages here in the last 26 years, one lasting 3 minutes and one (10 minutes later) lasting 10 second. Both were localized. And that is it.
From an US perspective, with their flaky grid and non-transparent pricing, doing your own solar plus storage may well be worth it.
That said, you also have a point, depending on the situation. I could get solar energy here and the electricity would be a lot cheaper from the supplier than doing it myself. But the grid-charges completely negate that. Given that my roof terrace has the wrong orientation for solar, I have decided to go without.

What you are pushing there is called a "Big Lie" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_lie). Doing so knowingly makes you a bad person. Doing so unknowingly makes you an "useful idiot".

That is a Big Lie (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_lie) and you know it. Makes you a malicious person. How repulsive.

Any other approach is too expensive and too risky. People that invest money competently are pretty conservative. They will go for the best option. And that is renewables.

You mistake actually understanding things for being "leftwing". Not that much a surprise, right-wingers are reliably known to be significantly dumber and significantly more disconnected from reality than the average person.

Tempting, but I don't think so.
Trump has been dumb all his life. Remember how they had to send him to a military-style college to get that degree because he simply could not hack it at a regular one despite all the help money can buy? The guy is a moron. He has always had money though and tons of it. In the US, that gets you admiration and apparently lets you get away with anything, including raping children, no matter how tiny a person you are and no matter how having money was not actually something you accomplished.

Yep. Obviously, he is too dumb to actually win at anything except at conning his even dumber supporters.

Indeed. Such a tiny person with such a fragile ego. Somebody like that cannot do well in life, no matter how much power or possessions he accumulates. He will always be a loser. Also too dumb to understand that all he will accomplish with violence is that people just stop saying it to his face. You cannot force respect. You can only earn it. He will never be able to do that from anybody with some real insight into things.
