In Soviet Russia they used to call is "the highest level of social protection". It is not designed to prevent crime, it is designed to protect the society from this specific person. And not wasting money to keep the person locked. Looks very practical.
The only real concern is that it cannot be undone if there was a mistake.

We should not wait and start making them now. Remember shortage of ventilators during Covid?
Or ... we can use these money to try to suppress the oil production...

It is a fallacy. The source of information is not important, the important part is if something is true or not. I can imagine that somebody can have their doubts but making predictions based on a gut feeling is not very constructive. The company is ready to put its money where the data are, so it does say something.

To be fair, have you looked at their data? Or it is your gut feeling?

It is really simple, you force people to do the right thing and they will never want to do it again. This is totally a mistake done by the governments. They gained some points quickly by the society is going to be hurt in the long term. Trust is easy to lose and very difficult to gain. They should have though with their heads how to handle covid. Blame the politicians, not the people.

Now you know. Please stop using any of oil based products. Plastics, energy, heat, gasoline. Do not fly on a plane and do not go by ships either.

Your believes are ridiculous. Police are not criminals. There are criminals who are police officers, yes, but the entire police force are not criminals. You are insane if you believes this.

I still prefer *our* local government to spy on me that some *foreign* power doing this. You could argue that there is no difference, but I am sure there is difference.
I would rather have police invading my privacy that criminals doing this, for example.

I just got a Sony TV. Because I expect more longevity from it. I have had a Samsung and it died on me.
Also, I totally do not want a smart TV in my house that was made in China. I really think this is a generally very bad idea.

Or, they may require you printer to be on-line for the sake of "safety", and still send somewhere for evaluation. If I would be planning this, this what I would push for. Future proof and you can do nothing about it.

Clearly, you know much more on the subject the a bunch of researchers who have just spent some significant time on the matter, and put some effort to publish their findings. Ah, yes, you did publish your ideas too.. here.

Right. Thus, they will just send everything you print to the FBI for evaluation. Or some other agency they will create for this.

It is about control. People, especially bureaucrats, just love to be able to tell other people what they can or cannot do. They breathe and eat this power.

Business leaders are just doing their business leadership things. They innovate. There is no such as "do not fix unless broken" thing in business.
