Harvard, like all universities with a mainframe back then claimed rights to anything developed on their mainframe. It was part of the agreement signed on admission.

Some had pre-paid for Altair BASIC and it was months late. Gates didn't pay for the mainframe time used to run the emulator Altair BASIC was tested on. Technically, the code belonged to the university, but that legal term was never enforced. Several bugs were fixed before it was distributed.

The various manufacturers are doing everything in their power to avoid switching once and for all to propane as a refrigerant because that one isn't patentable. Zero ozone depletion and 3x warming vs. CO2 (while R32 is 675x warming). And, of course it's much easier to dispose of. Capture it as usual and then cook burgers with it.

When passing an obstruction like a tall van, there is actually a point where the 'safe' speed forward is under 1 MPH when you include reaction time. Do you pass parked tall vans at less than 1MPH on a routine basis?
Followup, if yes, do other drivers frequently throw eggs, coffee, and trash at your car?

No. Dead weight tends to stay because they don't have the sort of CV that gets them a nice WFH job elsewhere. Top talent is a lot more mobile.
So you'll see top talent flee and dead weight slogging to the office and pulling down morale because they hate it.

It IS an insane expectation even for talented high schoolers. It MIGHT work out for them, but they have zero real world experience to base a decision for that kind of financial commitment.
Consider, ever where you are in your life right now, are you prepared to commit to a debt of 10-20 times your lifetime earnings so far? Now consider that you have years more experience in financial matters than a high school senior.
It's especially insane given that it wasn't that long ago that working through school was a viable way to graduate with a good degree debt free. My dad did that at Ga. Tech and he was not at all well-to-do at the time.

It's insane that the routine expectation is for an 18 year old still in high school to commit to 5 figures of debt before they've even had their first real job (no, McD's doesn't count as a real job). Even moreso that it's the one debt that cannot be discharged by bankruptcy.
Insane to the point that any councillor or teacher that tells them it's fine should be fired for educational malpractice.
Further the schools that re-assuringly pat the kids on the back and tell them it's OK because they'll get a high paying job due to their degree should be forced to eat the loss when a student graduates with a degree and can't do better than Starbucks.

TCP always goes over IP. Tunneling over UDP is just the same thing with one more layer of headers.

Considering that ICE has been killing people without justification or any sort of due process on video, Trump doesn't want to talk about public executions right now.

The latter are the people whose credit scores will be good enough to get credit under the cap.
