I am afraid you are a bit idealizing engineers in general and in particular what we call in my country of origin engineers in civil constructions.
Plenty of of engineers rush the design of their bridges by simply over-sample everything since concrete is cheap. In fact, It is often the engineering technicians which puts a few numbers in a software. The software will do all the calculations for him with wide margins knowing the laborers are going to do a mediocre concrete and he will give standard instructions to his site managers. Then the civil engineer will come and put his signature on the final work without even looking because he knows the engineering technician hasn't sabotaged his work and everything is overbuilt anyway.
Sure, there are engineers in constructions who are passionate about their work and can do wonders. And those are of course very interesting people. But not that many and at my engineering school we (not very seriously) nicknamed them "les glandeurs de polytech". Once out of the common core in fourth year they choose this option because most of the hard math work is already done and many of their future courses will be particular examples of statics of the hyperstatic system which is a rational mechanics they already know. Plus they have relatively few courses and lots of internships "to be close to the preoccupations of the employers you understand" ;)
Bridges do not fall because often you just have to pick an already made design and overbuild everything to be sure, not because they are built by overzealous people.
Your example was not very good. :)
Some engineers take their discipline seriously, some do not. Some are in a work environment which pushes them to do quality work. Some others are in a work environment that pushes for shoddy and cheap work. Usually corporate culture is not very friendly to meticulous and demanding workers. It is not always a problem of academic ethics.

2: Couldn't care less about immigrants anyway. They don't care they are tortured.They don't care they are innocent. MAGA people will feel no shame about this. Cruelty is the point of sadopopulism. They think it makes make them tough. They do not confess about it, they brag about it.
That said, the people leaking this are the beginning of the resistance. Like the people who probably on purpose used an inefficient method to censor the Epstein files. The "little hands" must be disgusted and do what they can discreetly. I salute their risk-taking. They have my respect. I will seed this little video even if its content was already known.

That is unfortunately in progress. The EU parliament is shifting right/far right. Eu laws about ecological transition are being amended; That might be a bad sign. Also the far right parties are anti-EU and for sale. Russia buys.

They are used as a destabilisation tool in Europe for the profit of fascists. I don't even understand why they don't ban them and put a red notice on the arse of their CEO ? Russia Today was outright banned in the EU. The responsibles for Radio Television Libre des Milles Collines were not fined, but jailed for life. That's where Elon belongs: In jail.
It would also make the repulsive people who invest in those companies lose money, which would be a good thing.
Fortunately, the Europeans understand much better now the US will not protect them when NATO will be attacked so i don't think that lever is that strong now. And that the morals of a child rapist are exactly what they should have expected.
