If you really thought that a chat app made by Meta / Facebook was actually end to end encrypted you're a fucking RETARD, ABSOLUTE FUCKING RETARD. Meta / Facebook has no motive to be providing this app / service unless they're making money, If you're not paying for it directly then you're paying for it thought data collecting and mining.

Exactly this. If its some setting you enabled or disabled outside of the GUI by such as by using registry editor or something at the CMD line / power shell. Expect that MS will eventually revert that change to default with no warning since MS knows better than the actual user of the system.

Probably right after Windows 2000 is when they lost their focus. That was the last MS operating system that was actually good, not bloated, didn't try to take control of your PC away from you, didn't phone home telemetry data or shove ads in your face from the OS itself. With enough tinkering Windows 7 could fill that role. Everything since that has just been a dumpster fire from hell.

Pretty much ever PE firm's MO is to saddle the acquired company with as much debt as possible, extract as much cash as possible then walk away from the dumpster fire. Wash Rinse Repeat with the next company.

Word of advice for youngins out there. If the place you work for is ever bought out by a private equity firm, brush up your resume and abandon ship ASAP. You' re going to be out of work in a year either due to "downsizing" or the PE firm just runs the company into the ground collecting as much money as they can in the process.

I want to know where do these "facts" come from. There has been story after story about Win11 having slower uptake than Win10 and how many people are moving off the Windows platform for Mac or Linux due to Win11 and now all the sudden it's the fastest to reach 1 billion users?

I can see apple getting a percent of sales for a sale of the app itself. But for things purchased within the app? I'm shocked they haven't gone after Amazon to get a percent of each purchase that people make in the Amazon app on iphone.

An MRNA-based vax will never make it anywhere. That term is so tained from COVID no one will touch the trials.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised to hear a group has probably already done something like this. It's a super easy idea. You'd just have to be on the inside to know what the DNS servers are to partake.

Nothing says you have to use official DNS servers on the internet. Setup an alternate DNS system and run an alt web right along side the commercial web. Or use something like Tor and keep the "dark web" from infiltrating it.

Some companies have also voluntarily made it easier to cancel as well. Probably one of the worst in recent memory i've had with canceling is SiriusXM, You try and cancel and they keep pushing free months of service on you. Years ago I when I tried to cancel the service it was such a pain in the ass it was just easier to reach out to my credit card company, tell them I lost the card and I got a new one issued with new #. Sirius kept trying to auto bill the old one and kept mailing notices for 6 months that they couldn't charge the card till they just gave up and turned off the service. I did end up signing up with them again, and cancelled earlier this year and the cancellation process online was straight forward and painless.

For now. However there have been some rumblings of laws to make cancellation just as easy as sign up.

Amazon is in direct competition with UPS with their Amazon Logistics arm. My guess is Amazon used UPS to cover holes in their logistics coverage or for extra delivery capacity during holidays or Prime Day. In my city I haven't seen an Amazon package delivered by a 3rd party for probably at least half a dozen years. A decade ago in my area Amazon packages were regularly delivered by 3rd parties USPS, UPS and LazerShip. Not so much these days.

Your company had you open a support ticket because ChatGPT couldn't write some code? I'm pretty sure ChatGPT isn't provided with any kind a guarantee or warranty that it will do that. Much like google search it's meant to be a tool to assist and have a human vet it's output is valid for the use case before throwing it into production.
