Governments are interested in what you are talking about. They aren't interested in your privacy.

If you have to use a phone to call someone, i.e., they aren't calling you, you aren't that important.

Makes up stronger. COVID culled the herd, so to speak. This bump shouldn't be a surprise.

And a corrupt sheriff would immediately relay this information to his subordinates. Ideally, he would leave a paper or electronic trail, but sometimes people are smart enough not to.

Correct. There is no county that is an independent nation-state in the US. State officials and officers can enter and authorize entry to county buildings for legitimate law enforcement activities. To say otherwise would mean that county officials and buildings would be exempt from State Police jurisdiction. It's partly based on the Dillon Rule and has been the law of land since 1868. The sheriff might believe that it is "his" building, but that belief is mistaken. Not every state official has the authority to grant access to county buildings. However, there are people at the state level who can do this.

We had phone trees before AI. Now with AI, you can ask a question that gets the same canned response instead of pressing a number. There's no measurable improvement.

What's funny is that you usually need an LLM to get past the boilerplate to understand what the regulation is actually doing.

I think there is substantial evidence that the government regulatory process has been captured by the oil and coal industry. It's not a coincidence that regulations favor the fossil fuel industry.

According to AI, additives are around 3 ounces per gallon. That's not really very much. You could have a little additive tank on the side for "detergents."

It doesn't have to be cheaper. Some people elect to pay more for electricity to avoid contributing to fossil fuel dependency. However, the alternative options can't be ludicrously expensive either.
