compared to what the cost savings would be in medical bills. Perhaps 100x that.

How about Windows 11: Copilot, or Recall, force upgrades (due to TPM), or even Edge, or forced ads. From what I've seen here on /. there's not a whole lotta of love going on.

"We're committed to this for the long term and will revisit opportunities for 3rd-party device partnerships as the category evolves."
I imagine the 3rd parties' investment in development to date was not zero. Good luck getting 3rd party developers to trust them down the road.

And how do they want it delivered? Just a link to your public profile? A download of all of your activity for five years? Your username and password? The first seems pointless, the rest seem terrible.
Simple, just add the US as a friend.

The only browser I would ever think about paying for is one that effectively blocks all ads and tracking. And a JavaScript toggle switch in the toolbar to easily load paywall articles.

I agree with your thoughts on social media entirely. But it's become entirely clear it's next to impossible for adults, let alone children, to compete with big tech when it comes to learning how to use your discretion and avoiding the lure of social media. There are a lot of parallels between addictive drug problems and social media platforms. Sometimes a little lit of regulation is a good thing, even if it doesn't seem like it at the time.

I have Reolink cameras and I’m pretty happy. I had Trendnet cameras before and they’re good in daylight but not very good in dark light. The Reolinks were a good upgrade.

"The whole point of this is because Waymo isn't supposed to make those mistakes," the person wrote on Reddit.
I don't think any system can ever be expected to never make a mistake. As long as they make way less mistakes than humans, I'm all for it. The expectation of perfection is unrealistic.
