I don't know that there's any decent metric to compare such a large and diverse pool of people and companies and water it down into some simple statement about how effectively one gender does something.
If fact...why the hell am I back on /.? I find myself just arguing with comments (not you, necessarily, but I've made some other marks in this comment section) from people who came here just to start a fight.
This article is standard /. format; it's not SJW, it's not feminazism; it's Slashdot gunning for clicks with poor titles, crappy editing, and ultimately useless "studies" that are somehow "News for Nerds."

And yet here you are...glad you came all this way for this oh-so Insightful comment. It'd be cool if you wanted to elaborate on why you think this is anymore Clickbait than most every /. article? Or why there's some "social justice" undertone. Even the summary questions the results of the "study" as being a case of correlation vs causation.

Adding to some other informed replies, HTML/JS/CSS are standards, in older versions, but most browsers are being written to comply with Working Drafts of standards. These are in flux, and vendors are choosing bits and pieces to support. While the ground is evening out - a lot - there is much need to test across browsers. If I ever had a manager who told me "Make sure it renders in Firefox - don't worry about anything else" then I'd probably be working for free, because no one is penetrating the market with a single-browser thought process.

I feel bad for the parents. My wife and I are young, and we already can't stand the Daleks. Imagine those parents out there, who have likely been putting up with "EXTERMINATE" for more years than we have, and now it's not only those surprise Dalek episodes to contend with, but also kids running around thinking that Daleks are so cool and "Look mum! I programmed it to talk!"

What? Women. In general. Like my sister and her friends, who were playing Mario before I could go to school? Or like my wife, who has been a gamer for 10+ years? Oh, maybe you meant the various women in my office who play video games?
Noobs are noobs - gender has *nothing* to do with that. Considering that about half of the gaming population is female and that I've been playing with girls/women in different games since middle school (15-ish years?), lumping women (or anyone) into a single group like that based on unrelated factors is pretty much the reason people get pissed off.

Right? The only one that looked remotely similar in an "almost too similar" way was the home screen, and I'd only believe that were iOS if it were jailbroken. They sure did borrow a lot of similar design patters and I can equate parts of the UI to their components in iOS (the camera app's ordering of My Photos -> Capture Still -> Capture Video, or the calendar app style), but none of it would be confusing for me either.

Ok, think that through and try again maybe? I've ready plenty on Jezebel that is absolutely not that, and feminism as a whole is a Good Thing even for us men. Radical or, more correctly, "neo-feminism?" Not so much, but then again that's not what Jezebel spews. Gawker media on the whole is pretty much HuffPo-Lite - sensationalist headlines and grabs for eyes, but isn't that every news site? Hell, /. has it's own slew of "OMG LOOK AT THIS TECH" or "DEATH OF [X] IMMINENT" where the content is hardly vetted before you get 500+ comments just arguing about how BS TFA is.
Besides, the problem here isn't just Jezebel, but the "Kinja" system in place on Gawker as a whole. Funny that an article on Jezebel meant to call out their parent company ended up being a poster child for the problem itself.
