Because businesses usually go after even much smaller markets - leaving money on the table is seldom a good business decision.

It is only a good thing for the individuals whose interests have been promoted by the Brexit government - and we are all well aware who those individuals are. Needless to say, your name is not on that list, but on the invoice.

The orange shitgibbon might have the attention span of a toddler, but he is still being steered by the heritage foundation and the tech bros who consider themselves the modern nobility.

With the main problem being the sheer silliness of the idea.

What you describe is a gas turbine engine. It is colloquially called a gas turbine, but this is not the correct designation and the actual turbine is only a part of it.

22 kilos for a "biological" MTB? That seems quite heavy, even for something that only can go downhill. The only DH bike I have seen that was this heavy was with a boxy steel frame self-welded by its owner out of something bought at a construction shop. Can you actually still do a bunny hop with it?

Definitely not 100 tons of fuel. A 767-200ER can only load maybe two thirds of that and since both were heading from BOS to LAX, they most likely had less than 25 tons of fuel loaded each. Also a 767-200ER MTOW is more like 180 tons and since both planes were half empty, their weight was most likely nowhere near MTOW.

Nope, it is defined just as not a monarchy. Originally, of course, res publica was simply the Latin equivalent of the Greek demokratia, but that has been millennia ago. Even a dictatorship can be a republic nowadays.
Basically, the UK is democratic, but not a republic, Russia is a republic, but not democratic, Germany is both, Saudi Arabia is neither.

The definition of republic is "not monarchy". It can be a democracy, it can be an oligarchy, it can be a tyranny.
What you probably mean is "representative democracy".

Don't be ridiculous. The only reason why it happened was an extreme disparity regarding weaponry. That window has closed decades ago. You can look at the battle of Tsushima to see what happens when a country tries to fight a near peer across half the world.

Where? There is half a world between Europe and China. China would have to conquer most of Asia before they can come close enough to Europe for a war even in a different country can be practical. Look at the bloody map if you are geographically challenged.

You seriously want to compare the way the economy worked a century ago with the economy nowadays? The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there.
