Just streamed a movie with Burt Ward playing a part. It had other famous names: Swayze, Travolta...but not the ones that first spring to mind.

I fully expect discs themselves to outlast the mechanisms needed to read them. Initially machines can be strung along with accessible repairs (replacing belts that reverted to crude oil, replacing bad capacitors) but eventually something vital and unavailable goes.

One of the purposes of the CVR in recording all cockpit sound is to capture the sound(s) of switches and controls being manipulated. If the cutoff switches make a sound, the CVR should have recorded it. But teasing what's likely a subtle sound out of the noise won't be easy.
In regard to intermittent wiring problems I'll point to the Dali where a single mis-inserted wire eventually triggered a series of events which resulted in 6 deaths and the destruction of the Key bridge.

Time to see Hammersley in action...fighting off the US Navy as it invades the Heard & McDonald Islands to make those fucking penguins pay that 10,000% tariff.
And more My Cloudy Drovers because no matter how many cast changes there are, somehow there is an infinite supply of daughters.

Libs invaded and are making a big stink about changing the name of Fort Bragg, CA. What amazes me is that there are [at least] two places, on opposite sides of the country, named for the exact same obscure US Army officer (and later, Confederate general and slave owner). I hope they rename it Fort Woke, CA.

The great thing about The Great Gatsby is that the 10,000 year copyright finally expired. The National Politics Radio (NPR) economics team recorded an audiobook version to celebrate. Kept falling asleep...still don't know what it's about.

I'd wondered why there were 2 stab switches but only 1 thing done.
Didn't see it in the wikipedia, but IIRC there was a delay of 8 (maybe 3) seconds after a pilot used the trim thumbswitch on the yoke before MCAS would resume trying to kill everyone. So there was a path out of MCAS deathwish: keep tapping the trim switch on the yoke in intervals less than the delay, or use the thumbswitch to power the trim into desired position then turn the stab switches off. Neither procedure was documented, as that would have been admitting to the existence of MCAS, triggering more retraining.

Wasn't Gunsmoke running 2 new episodes a week for some period?
Somewhat amusing that back in the day UK actors lived in dread that their 6-12 episode/year series would get imported to the US and it's 26 episode treadmill. How can a real actor play the same character more than a dozen times a year? But now with streaming these short British length runs are the norm.

Probably the most correct phraseology would be some variant of "pay per view": "View Once for $" and "View Unlimited for $$$". Amazon's use of "Buy" means that a Prime subscriber may transfer what they "bought" to another Prime subscriber. Where is that marketplace?

You continue to over-think Trump, ascribing more thought to Trump than actually exists. Trump is literally "my number is bigger than your number". That's it. No more.

Someday I may get beyond page 9.
For me, Amazon is the vendor of no choice. Maybe someday they'll go the way of the company where I learned that phrase.
