I don't think it's hypocrisy - just intelligent planning. I suppose they could have done what other oil-rich nations might do e.g. spend the money buying a Rolls-Royce in every color or perhaps by spending billions in the war machinery but their focus is elsewhere and that's not a bad thing.
When a highly education, relatively low population, oil-rich country with a very cold climate and dispersed population makes this kind of news, we should be celebrating their results instead of trying to find every flaw. If the alternative was that 97% of their new vehicles were diesels, that wouldn't be the great news some people think it is.

and hopefully by then, someone with some knowledge will have provided a plain-English and neutral analysis without any of the knee-jerk insults to Trump or RFK that I'm sure will represent a sizeable percentage of the discourse here.
This site used be to be awesome but the partisan bickering and grandstanding makes it miserable to read good dialogue.

I spend significantly more time watching YouTube videos than I do Netflix/Prime Video etc. My YouTube feed is mainly "maker" stuff like machining, woodworking, vehicle maintenance etc. but the main draw is that it's so easy to find stuff that I'm interested in as opposed to searching for a TV show/movie on Netflix that I might enjoy.

I really don't have any skin in the game. I have zero stock in Tesla or any of Elon's other companies.
I also don't care for Elon as a person - but by the same token, I don't know him personally. I'm utterly indifferent to him as a human. But I do love my Cybertruck and my Model Y. Before my Cybertruck, I loved my Model S. This might make it seem like I'm a Tesla fanboy but I've owned 50+ cars in the last 40 years. Yes, I change my vehicles a LOT or at least I used to. I owned my Model S for longer than any other car previously and the only reason I sold it was because I really wanted the Cybertruck.
I don't know if my Cybertruck would be better without Elon but I'm pretty sure it would not even be a thing without him. You could just as easily say, "Look at Mary Barra" or any other CEO of a major car brand - they are boring people, putting out boring vehicles. And they're not even especially inexpensive. A loaded RAM 1500 Tungsten will set you back close to $125k Canadian rupees and what do you get above the base level RAM 1500? A secondary screen for your passenger and the inside of a tart's boudoir. :)

I have some terrible news for you.
I have a Cybertruck and am running v14.2.1.25 FSD. I live in the frozen North and, right now, the roads are a combination of slush, snow, and ice. Road markings, for the most part, are buried under snow, except for major highways which are scraped clean(ish) by snow plows.
This morning, just like every morning last week, FSD took me from home to work (around an hour each way) with no intervention. This is despite some serious sun glare and some heavy snowfall on Thursday. I got a couple of warnings that some of the cameras were dirty but I guess not dirty enough to disable FSD.
I've previously driven in heavy rain and fog and FSD still works. I'm not saying it works for everyone and under every single weather condition but I'm pretty sure I'm not running a unique version of FSD software. I don't know if Tesla's stock price is over-inflated. I don't own any Tesla stock and don't own much stock outside of them. But I can tell you, FSD works for me and a lot of other Tesla owners.
I have driven cars with BlueCruise and SuperCruise and they are not in the same league as FSD. Granted, I haven't tried either for around a year and maybe they improved significantly but somehow, I doubt it.

The problem is "Adults". People, regardless of their age, fall into the following categories (I might be missing a bunch):
1. I saw it on the Internet and therefore it must be true
2. I saw it on the Internet and it aligns with my own beliefs so therefore it must be true
3. I saw it on the Internet and a BUNCH of people seemed to agree with it, therefore it must be true
4. I saw it on the Internet but it seems like such a radical idea that I'm very suspicious about it and therefore I'll do my own due diligence before coming to a conclusion
5. I saw it on the Internet and therefore I inherently distrust it.
6. I don't think bots in forums are a real thing
It's not only children who might fall victim to 1. And it's not all adults who fall under 4.
Just because you're over 18 doesn't mean you have the ability to think logically or do research. More people need protection from these social media sites/apps than people are comfortable saying.

They are not in the business of protecting minors or encouraging thoughtful conversation. They are in the business of making money and maximizing clicks and views. They know that conflict increases clicks and posts so it should not be surprising to know they want that to happen. They can dress it up in all the corporate nice-speak they want.

Attached to: Why Meetings Can Harm Employee Well-Being
Pick one of the following:
1. There are too many people who can't be trusted to provide accurate progress updates to everyone.
2. There are too many people who don't know know how to provide concise update reports. I don't want a "War and Peace" but I also don't want 2 sentences
3. There are too many people who don't understand what needs to be done so you got to pull everyone together and explain it
4. Some people just need something to fill up their day so it looks like they're productive
5. Execs love meetings. There's no getting around that. You could just as easily send them concise information in an email but they want to have a meeting so they can have a shiny PowerPoint and 8 times out of 10, they don't have any questions. And the 2 times they did have a question, it's almost always answered in the slide that was just presented.
6, Too many people haven't quite mastered the art of asking questions in written form. They don't think they can articulate the question properly in an email so they set up a 60 minute meeting to ask a 40 second question.
I have a team who is very competent and we have many years working together so we all have grown to realize how we need to communicate with each other and the style of updates someone likes to give and receive. As a leader, I am very happy that my team just knows how to execute stuff and doesn't require minutiae of detail - it didn't happen overnight though, it took many years.

You're right, it's more a reflection of the person getting bent out of shape based on the car someone is driving than the person driving the car. I've never quite understood the hate. If you don't like the shape, you don't need to shout it from the rooftops. It's OK for people to have different tastes.
It used to bother me but as long as they're not doing anything dangerous, I just feel sorry for them. It must be hard going through your daily life getting so upset for reasons you probably can't articulate properly.

Just a word of advice, use it as you see fit. Don't respond to AC or people who are trolling. They're just baiting you and it's likely not even a person on the other end.

I'm running FSD v13.2.9 and waiting for v14.x to be released, which is coming hopefully soon-ish. I'm not in major rush though for reasons you'll see below.
This is a personal anecdote, so take it for what you will. My current FSD actually self-drives today and has been for a very long time. It'll take me from my driveway to my work parking lot and back home without a single intervention. To get to work, I drive through country roads, city streets, and 2 highways. One of which is the busiest highway in North America.
I drive to work every day (M-F) and I can't stress this enough: I can't remember the last time I had to intervene . It's navigated road construction, the odd garbage truck stopping with no notice to pick up garbage bags on the side of the road (every Thursday morning around 6am), other drivers making last minute multi-lane changes to get to the highway exit, even drivers who brake check because they don't like the Cybertruck. I have a Model S too and have never been brake checked in that so *shrug*. It's deviated automatically from the regular route when it's detected there's standstill traffic somewhere along my route and then driven me home, again no intervention needed from me.
I've driven through fog, heavy rain, and unlit streets. My experience with FSD has been as flawless as I can expect. Of course, that is not going to be true for everyone, but when is anything every universally true when it comes to a persons experience of technology?
