Does that mean we're less than the proverbial 20 years away?
Yes, fusion power has always been 10 years away for the past 40 years.

I haven't read or followed this chatgpt much, I've heard it basically aggregates much of what has been posted already. So if a lot of posts on reddit are bots then bots will aggregate more bots (the self-licking ice cream cone).

Story goes when Howard Hughes "proposed sea floor mining" with Glomar Explorer, many investors put their money into other such ventures. They figured Hughes the richest man in the world and the aviation visionary may be on to the next big thing. And man o man were these investors pissed when they found out Hughes had nothing to do with Glomar Explorer and never intended sea floor mining.

It does give China the means to set up some considerable infrastructure on the South America continent. And this can be a power projection like what US does with various installations around the world. There's also articles where Mexico seeking assistance from China to deal with fentanyl crisis. Maybe US too worried about trans people taking over. It also looks like Artemis program will get considerable boost from congress as gotta beat the Chinese to the moon in same ways we had to beat the Soviets to the moon.

I was about to post the same comment. As carnivore302 wrote people that rent them don't see the scooters at as their property they don't treat them with the same caution and respect. Bicycles are owned by the users, afterall, they've been around for more than a century and some of these new bikes are expensive. You are not going to abandon it in middle of sidewalk or on someone's lawn like a e-scooter. I also see e-scooters as another MLM gimmick.

The old story from Mad Magazine decades ago, if we want to gather information on another country's activities then we employ intelligence agents. When other countries to the same to us we accuse them of using spies.

From what I understand, back in the days FCC required a variety of ownership and programs (rock, classical, pop, jazz, news, educational, religion, etc). This was also back when DJs required a FCC commercial radiotelephone license (3rd class) and people that repair/tune equipment needed the 1st class. But then I haven't listened to radio for quite some time. I guess I squander my time here on /. Also back then is when FCC did enforcement.

One of my friends tried to set up a station, for 10 years. If you aren't Clearchannel, forget it.
I don't have the figures but I've heard broadcast licenses are ***expensive***, that is, if there's available spectrum not owned by CC.

Well said. It sure does seem with various crisis going on, congress seems more hung up about trans people. However, I don't have points to upvote you out of the negativity. I guess the pro-corporate shills voted you down.

Attached to: House Votes To Declassify Info About Origins of COVID-19
In the early days of the pandemic especially there was a lot of fingerpointing of whether created in a lab or created by crossover from wildlife into a human market. It was mentioned important thing to focus is how will we manage infection from this virus? Quarentine, masking, limited travel, close stores, etc. Though it is more stable now as compared to 2020, we might find out for certain. Or will we really, the declassified info may clearly state the origins but I'm afraid we will have lots of nutjobs that are very good with YT videos debunking the facts like many do with the Apollo program. The big question I have how will we manage the next pandemic?

Looks like the closet place is Rancho Cucamonga (sp?), on the north side of LA.
A YT video by "Not Just Bikes" says America always gets this wrong when building transit. Basically need a system that takes people where they are and send them to where they go. Many LA people are not in Rancho Cucamonga so many that figured driving to RC, might as well drive to LV.

Their "heaven show" is when they make money from advertisers by shepherding lemmings to user generated content.
In this video about why no longer can find useful content these days:

" The giant that shaped the internet for the last 20 years is being consumed from the inside by SEO, lack of quality information, the emergence of platforms and no more avenues for growth."
