No and also no.
It's just Windows 10 with a new number added.

I work from home normally, but damn if the office workers couldn't make it to the office (which would realistically require an Earthquake) they still just work from home. But also nobody here works from office 5 days a week - exceptions being staff who's job is physical like data center staff.

The "cheap" brands have improved enormously. That's part of the problem for people like Sony, the bottom tier has almost come up to the top to the point where most people in the real world cannot tell the difference.

Azure apparently has significantly more Linux usage than Windows AND for locked in costs, its hard to beat.
We've migrated several customers to Azure who don't use Windows at any level.

> Two years after generative AI was supposed to render India's $250 billion IT services industry obsolete
Currently most companies make little to no use of AI except at an individual level.
Even my large scale AI-related projects aren't really replacing anyone yet. Maybe in 5-10 years if the AI companies aren't all out of business due to their massive fat debt loads.
Some companies seem to be interesting in shedding employees and not hiring new employees, but they are just shooting themselves in the foot. (It's not that AI doesn't work or isn't helpful, but it just doesn't really replace anyone at this point.)

Nutanix was once super cheap compared to a VMware deployment, they have eroded much of that discount. If they cost 90% as much, it's a VERY hard sell.
Proxmox is unfortunately extremely immature.
For very large deployments, there's options (aka OpenStack - which we've deployed at most Wireless Telecoms now) but for a lot of modest sized companies, there's just limited options unless its very Microsoft shop (where HyperV+SCVMM is fine.)

I don't deal with any of these people, but the people I do deal with said that apparently Dye and his co-horts are not well liked. Different from the love hate relationship that people had with people like Jobs/Ives/etc.

Everyone I know who's very knowledgeable at Microsoft works on core Azure OR they are research fellows. Everyone else left.
BUUUUUT as a side note, who's using Zig? Uber and TigerBeetle - the latter is interesting, but does anyone actually have "live" products with it? (I read this HN thread about it but it sounds like their big "title" user basically never went live and dropped it.)

Slashdot is basically old techy people and this is a fashion label's product not Apple's.
My wife and me just now:
Me: Look at this iPhone sock thing.
My wife's words after I showed her: Is it available in pink
Me: Yes
Wife: Sugoi! Interesting.
She then proceeded to buy one.

There's zero hidden messages, zero virtue signaling.
It's a bag designed by a designer sold at a profit by a for profit company.

There's similar requirements already on the "TV" side of the business.
Similarly there's taxes on things like DVDs/CDs that go back to local artists (but those systems in some countries like Canada are fundamentally broken.)
