Rod Stewart goes to model railroad conventions and he hasn't done too badly over the years, maybe this is the secret of his success.

..is how leaving the state can stall a vote?
An absent person should simply be regarded as abstaining, and on top of that it shouldn't be impossible now to have remote or proxy voting if an absent person does not wish to abstain.

When you work for a company, well not all of them but good luck finding a company to work for that doesn't nowadays, you typically sign over the rights to anything you produce as a a result of your employment in your employment contract.
You may sign over the rights to them, but your experience in designing such devices is a marketable commodity, and provided you don't breach any patents obtained or copyright, then you are free to work for someone else on the similar concept. Contracts preventing continuation of an individuals trade are generally not enforceable.

“Even where a motorist or cyclist had the right of way, pedestrians who are established on the road have right of way. Mr Hazeldean did fall below the level to be expected of a reasonably competent cyclist in that he did proceed when the road was not completely clear.”
Mauger said Brushett‘s conduct as a pedestrian must have contributed to the accident. “Ms Brushett must clearly have equal responsibility if she is crossing the road without looking – and if she is looking at her phone, even more so,” she said.
The judge’s ruling found that the parties shared responsibility, so while Brushett is guaranteed a payout, she will get only half of the full value of her claim.

...I'm surprised Electric cars just don't auto-play some bangin' tunez from their audio stereo system for the noise output.
Although it would be a bit unfortunate if someone was an experimental music nut and decided to play 4'33" by John Cage all the time.

Reforestation after a fire happens pretty rapidly so I don't think evolution would get the chance to produce a grassland oriented creature in that sort of timescale.
30-50 years after any fire, the forest would be back again.

I don't think you can compare Boris to Trump. The difference is that Boris is only a clown on the surface.
Boris was an effective Mayor of London. He managed to get the Olympics off without any problems. On the surface he plays to the gallery but underneath he's a lot brighter (and better educated) than Trump. Whilst he didn't get a First, his Upper second Oxford degree is genuine.
Boris is allegedly quite lazy, but as a result delegates well, unlike (say) Trump.
I do agree he wouldn't be a good leader of the country. He wasn't a great Foreign Secretary and being able to get on with foreign leaders and be diplomatic is a necessity in a Prime Minister

Prime Minister Theresa May of Britain surrendered to mounting pressure from her lawmakers
They're called MPs (Members of Parliament) or possibly Conservative Members of Parliament as the others have no say in the matter/
You don't refer to members of the US Senate and Congress as 'lawmakers'
