Image deletion warning | Image:Churchill-fallspowerhouse2.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. If the file is up for deletion because it has been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the file may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new file. |

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.BotMultichillT 06:21, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. This above is, without doubt, not a type of dam. Just a mere architecture style. People sometimes confuse the difference between style and type. Either way, we cannot put up wrong facts. Rehman 01:09, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Another user changed Category:buttress dams to Dams by type in April. I think it´s OK.--ProfessorX (talk) 13:58, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Walsburg (Unterbecken).jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with GFDL to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with PD-self to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |
And also:
No required license templates were detected at this file page. Please correct it, or if you have any questions please contact me on my talk page. Yours sincerely, Jarekt (talk) 19:33, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Congratulations to your photos of all the dams and reservoirs in the Ore Mountains. However, it seems to me that two of those to the Janov dam are misplaced. They show the Janov dam but appear at the Kamenicka dam. Sincerely. --HsBerlin01 (talk) 08:39, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! I noticed that you edited the file descriptions of several of this user's uploads, correctly noting that they were not the uploader's own work as he or she had claimed, but were in fact grabbed from various online sources. If you come across such cases in the future, could I please ask that you let someone know about it, either on the Administrators' noticeboard or by adding a Copyvio tag to the file description? People uploading random non-free content they found on the Internet to Commons is a huge problem for the project and its users, and the faster we can remove them, the better. Just adding a few subtle links on the file descriptions and a comment in the edit summary normally won't draw the attention of anyone who can do anything about it. Danke schön! —LX (talk, contribs) 10:04, 7 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hello ProfessorX, it seems that your latest changes or uploads of the file(s) Rhodes and Africa from Cairo to Cape Town.jpg broke a template. This assumption has been made because the file(s) appeared in the maintenance Category:Pages using Information template with incorrect parameter. To fix this issue please check this category for further information. If the file(s) is/are not contained in the maintenance category anymore someone else already did the work and you can ignore this message. Thank you for your cooperation. --ArndBot (talk) 19:21, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hallo!
