Group A of the 2021 Copa América, also referred to as the South Zone, took place from 14 to 28 June 2021 in Brazil.[1] The group consisted of former co-hosts Argentina, Bolivia, Uruguay, Chile and Paraguay.[2] It would also have included guests Australia before their withdrawal on 23 February 2021.[3]
Originally, Group A was scheduled to be played from 12 to 30 June 2020.[4] However, on 17 March 2020 the tournament was postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in South America.[5]
On 30 May 2021, Argentina was removed as co-host due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
