AWikiGnome is jargon for a wiki editor who makes useful incremental edits without clamoring for attention. WikiGnomes work behind the scenes of a wiki, tying up little loose ends and making things run more smoothly, fixing things such as typos, poor grammar, and broken links. Some editors exhibit WikiGnome-like behavior as part of their work when creating new articles and affecting the substantive content of the articles that they edit, while other editors limit themselves to WikiGnome behavior only. You can join the WikiGnomes by placing either/both of the following templates on your userpage; they will display like this:

This editor is a WikiGnome.

If you would like to leave a kind message for the WikiGnomes, please see Wikipedia:WikiGnome/Kudos.
