Giovanni Stucky (27 May 1843, in Venice – 21 May 1910) was a Swiss businessman.[1] His father was the mill owner Hans Stucky from MünsingeninBern Canton, who had lived in Italy since 1837 and in Venice since 1841. Giovanni Stucky became the richest man in Venice by making pasta, the Stucky brand becoming famous worldwide.

  1. ^ He never became an Italian citizen neither did his sons. Later on, this was one of causes of the financial bankrupt of the family. They were denied the refundings for war damages reserved for Italian citizens only, see "So wurde ein Schweizer zum reichster Venezianer". 20min.ch (in German). 29 July 2018. Doch dazu kam es nicht, denn die Zahlungen waren Italienern vorbehalten. Er selbst war aber wie sein Vater und Grossvater immer Schweizer geblieben.
