Lamnoidea is a proposed superfamilyofmackerel sharks that includes the families Lamnidae and Otodontidae. A sister group relationship between lamnids and otodontids is supported by synapomorphies including regional endothermy, tooth morphology, and rostral cartilage morphology.[2][3][4]
