What is the history of the cooler (esky) was it really invented in Australia like the VB ad claims? This site (http://www.amazingaustralia.com.au/inventions.htm) claims its an Aussie invention but it also claims Vegimite which is not quite true as marmite existed first.

Well of course if they say it in an advertisement then it must be true! ;-) Asa01 01:09, 28 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

There seems to be some confusion in this article. Nylex (Esky) website claims to have been making coolers for 56 years (so about 1952) Coleman claims introducing their cooler in 1954, the referenced patent is from 1951? I'm morally certain home built coolers have been around longer... Does anyone have anything definitive? Outlawmws (talk) 20:49, 23 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm from the UK. Lived here all my life and I have never heard the term 'cool-box'. Is it real? Is there a source?--Tubs uk (talk) 01:07, 4 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Category Coolers

@General Ization: Hi, is it ok to make a Category:Coolers to include Cooler and Water cooler? I need it for the Europeana Food and Drink project, to link up to Category:Food and drink. Cheers! --Vladimir Alexiev (talk) 14:03, 20 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
