Thought we needed this.

- A picture to go here.

Something about how used to go here.

Some example machines (e.g., PDP-8) to go here.

Something about early (1970's) hobby machines (e.g., MITS Altair 8800) to go here.

Something about ze Blinkenlights, etc, to go here.

Include (ideally with pictures):
Mention trend towards keyboard/display hardware consoles with a lot of internal code in place of complicated arrays of discrete controls and displays, e.g., IBM Hardware Management Console (HMC). --Shmuel (Seymour J.) Metz Username:Chatul (talk) 09:41, 21 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Is the display console image of the CDC 6600

edit

Is the image of the display console on the CDC 6600 relevant to the article? That display console was simply a terminal, and did not function as a front panel. A more appropriate image would be the Dead Start panel from the same machine. -- Shmuel (Seymour J.) Metz Username:Chatul (talk) 13:24, 22 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
