George Jones (U.S. senator) → George Jones (senator, born 1766) – There are two problems here. One is that the "U.S." is unnecessary. Please see Talk:Arthur Brown (Utah senator) and Talk:Dan Sullivan (American senator) for other discussions of that issue. The other problem is ambiguity with George W. Actually, George W. Jonesisnot disambiguated by small details, since that is not disambiguated from George Washington Jones (Tennessee politician) and George Washington Jones (Texas politician).   • There don't seem to be any Georgia (country) politicians named "George Jones", so I don't see a problem in that regard, and I support the alternative proposal (as the original RM proposer).
