Why should the article be renamed when the word "campaign" is not even capitalized in the opening sentence of the article? The article name/capitalization and the opening sentence should match. Steel1943 (talk) 00:53, 18 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
When I first wrote the article I mistakenly believed that in article titles the word 'campaign' was not to be capitalized. I have since looked at the titles of other articles concerning military campaigns and have found that there, the 'c' is always capitalized. I will gladly change the capitalization issue in the opening paragraph if this is the only problem. Thank you for your quick reply. Nmillers (talk) 10:19, 18 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
The reason I wished to move the article to capitalize the 'c' was for the title to fit in with the styles of other articles concerning First World War campaigns. Each WWI campaign article I have seen (except the Mesopotamian campaign) has the 'c' capitalized such as East Africa Campaign, South-West Africa Campaign and West Africa Campaign. John Horne's A Companion to World War I, a source that has been frequently consulted capitalizes the 'c' in Kamerun Campaign. If the policy on Wikipedia is to move away from excessive capitalization, would it be necessary to move all other articles so their titles would have the lower case 'c' in campaign? Again, the only reason I proposed this move was to have the article title fit in more closely to the conventions used in associated articles about military campaigns. If the less capitalization policy is applicable in this situation, I would be happy to drop my request. Nmillers (talk) 09:30, 19 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Weak support The term is a proper noun in that it refers to a specific set of events. Current capitalization would be better as part of a longer title, such as Kamerun campaign of World War I, though please note I am not advocating such a name. --BDD (talk) 18:23, 5 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
