Limes Saxonicus

edit

Hi, after the Saxon chronicle is the Limes Saxonicus not identical with the Limes Saxoniae and has exist in the time of Roman empire between 50 BC and 400 AD, early time of Saxons long before the collapsing of western roman empire. The chronicle say, the Limes Saxonicus was builded between Roman Empire (roman province Germania inferior) and the Tribes of Saxons (free Germania magna today westfalia) at lower Rhine downside of Lacus Flavus, today in the Netherlands. The reason was the raids of saxons (and franks) in roman province. The Word Limes Saxonicus is build same to Limes Pannonicus. The first undisputed mention of the Saxon name in its modern form is from AD 356, when Julian, later the Roman emperor, mentioned them in a speech as allies of Magnentius, a rival emperor in Gaul.
