Paoli is well West of Philadelphia, and the airfield in question is not in Philadelphia. See this link, which explicitly mentions Pete Conrad and notes the coordinates of the airfield, which was 20 miles West of Philadelphia.
I will change the word "in" to "near" in the main article. The airfield was originally the "Main Line Airport", near Paoli, Pennsylvania. (The "Main Line" referred to the Pennsylvania Railroad line that went West from Phillie to Harrisburgh and on.) You all can deal with how to fix the name, which varied over the years. Read the cite I gave.
It would be nice for someone to put the cite to the above article in as a reference. I've been having difficulty doing this. Someone with better technical skills can do it, I'm sure.
Forgive me, I grew up there, my parents knew the Conrad family, and I am only interested in accuracy.
Actually, this would be okay as a redirect without running afoul of WP:UCN. It would be only renaming the article hat would be a problem. Most (all?) of the examples listed as "Not" at UCN do redirect to the desired page. TJRC (talk) 03:42, 21 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
Okay. Would the embedded quotes cause an issue in the search engine, i.e. would this be the same as " Charles Pete Conrad " ? (Would that would be moot?) JustinTime55 (talk) 15:33, 21 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
Doesn't look like it would be a problem. I just searched on both, and got ro two different "not found" pages. I'm not convinced it is worth creating (although I wouldn't object to it), because I don't know how likely it would be to be used. Redirects are cheap, though. The one way it might be useful if someone is reading an article on another web site, and, wanting to find more about him, cut-and-pasted the name into a Wikipedia search. Right now, searching for either Charles "Pete" ConradorCharles Pete Conrad, this article is only the second one in the results list, after Charles Conrad, so that's some indication it might be a worthy redirect. I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Pete Conrad's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡14:59, 16 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

"From the beginning, Pete Conrad was clearly a bright, intelligent boy, but he continually struggled with his schoolwork." Borderline MOS:PUFF?
Reworded a little, do not think I can get rid of the words specifically without taking away the meaning of the sentence (that he was considered smart but did poorly in school). Kees08 (Talk)
"He excelled in Navy flight school, and he served for several years as an aircraft carrier-based fighter pilot in the Navy. Conrad also served as a flight instructor in Navy flight schools along the Gulf of Mexico." [citation needed]
"Both Pete and Jane remarried." and "Conrad met Nancy Crane, a Denver divorcee, through mutual friends. Conrad and Crane married in 1990." should be merged.
Any more info on Jane's remarriage?
Reference 2 could be expanded to add ISBN, date published, etc.
Are there more sources that could back up References 29-32? Citing IMDb on its own is not reliable.
Hm, in this instance they fall under 'disputed uses' (though I do not see any links to discussions and if it will always be disputed..). I can make an effort to find other sources, if you want. Kees08 (Talk)
Have you considered putting pictures in a image gallery? The photos in the NASA career section are stacking quite a bit.
I'm not sure what your point is. The article simply documents that the crew was given the award, and the basis stated by the NAA for that award. If you feel the award was not justified, or disagree with the NAA's stated reasons for awarding it, that's not a matter for Wikipedia; your beef is with the NAA. You're probably right, but I try to construe most notes like this as a genuine attempt to improve the article, which is probably a bit pollyanna of me. TJRC (talk) 20:58, 18 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
