The article reports that the population is estimated at 4k individuals. Can we get a source for this estimate and perhaps a clarification of whether or not it is for birds in the wild or for the species as a whole (i.e., wild and captive birds)? Tomertalk 12:11, 12 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

In the introduction, it says the population of the bird is growing because of the work of the Katala Organization. In the body of the text, it says the Katala Foundation has increased the population in some sites, but overall the population is decreasing. Which one is it?
