As far as I know growing up in Nova Scotia Solomon Gundy is just pickled herring. Doesn't matter about crackers or anything else. You can go to the supermarket and buy "Solomon Gundy" and it is just pickled herring with onions in it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alanmckay (talkcontribs) 02:58, 11 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Which country is this article talking about?

edit

OK, so we see lower down the article that in Nova Scotia, solomon gundy is pickled herring with onion. So the top of the article must be referring to "solomon gundy" in some country other than Nova Scotia? Which country/countries have this? I live in the UK and we do not have it. From the photo, I think it may be a thing in Jamaica. Is it also known in the US? Could someone please clarify?--mcld (talk) 22:00, 29 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

"Deprecated" nursery rhymes?

edit

The name Solomon Gundy is also a deprecated spelling of Solomon Grundy, an English nursery rhyme.

'Deprecated'?? There's a committee supervising standards for nursery rhymes? "Solomon Gundy" is from some experimental code branch which has now been abandoned? What? Possibly "alternative" or "less common" or just "variant". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.216.142.12 (talk) 15:18, 15 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
