Image:CTRShield.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Recent scholarship has examined historical Mormon use of the cross. See: http://www.mormontimes.com/studies_doctrine/doctrine_discussion/?id=10632 Rich jj (talk) 01:19, 14 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Many of these new items where historically significant (sunstone, eye of providence), but are not commonly used/discussed all that much in the modern church (i.e. since the presidency of David O. McKay). Should there be two lists: one with the historic symbols & one with the symbols still in common modern use? There are also several symbols used for the LDS Church that are not mentioned, such as the Salt Lake Temple, the Salt Lake Tabernacle, the MoTab, CTR rings, the Christus, etc... -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 01:52, 6 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
This is a draft of a new section detailing the new symbol of the Church (April 2020). Please review before uploading to the official page. In addition to the information in this section, I propose we solicit the Church for permission to post their new symbol as the new main picture for this article. Can anyone get on that?
Outline:
Will do some research and return to update this.
